@culturedcode - can we please get MCP support (both local and remote) for Things? I am forced to move away to other tools since AI related features are missing for quite long. Hope the upcoming releases will add features that evolve around AI.

I love Things from @culturedcode. Everything about it brings me joy. But man I wish there was an API/CLI or just some app updates. Feels like not much has changed in a long time. I’d love to be able to get todos into it when I’m working on Cursor, or be able to read from it too.

@culturedcode You can bet it did. It was the app that made me really want to get a Mac, back in the 2010s. Several years have passed, and I’ve never stopped using either the Mac or Things.

@culturedcode It has made a huge difference. I organize everything through this now. One big difference is I immediately record anything that I want to later so I no longer forget things. Integration with Siri is great. I look at it everyday to plan what I will do.

@culturedcode Yes, been a user for 18ish years. I met the team at Macworld 2009! I recently moved to an obsidian second brain approach - perhaps something you guys could look at as it’s the first thing in all that time that made me switch. I still miss the design / elegance of things though.

@culturedcode I build apps myself, so what I notice about Things isn't its features — it's the ones it left out. No badges, no AI bolted on, no bloat. Just a quiet place for what matters. It's the product I point to when I explain what 'do one thing well' looks like. 😀

@culturedcode Been using it since grad school when you launched, now almost 20 years later I’m full professor. It has helped me organize my profession life from PhD to tenure to writing books and teaching my classes. Things is indispensable!

@culturedcode Consider my reflection shared. Whether my story gets picked or not, it was genuinely nice spending time reflecting on how long Things has quietly been part of my life and work. Nearly two decades later... still opening it every day.

Creating great software is an Art. There are very few software which are great in quality ,when you use it, you feel joy, clam ,peace. For me, it's Things 3 by @culturedcode and Bear Notes.

Things@culturedcode·
@SunilVeluchamy That’s because they can be done at any time—Today is merely a subset of Anytime. Anytime is *all* to-dos that aren’t blocked from being acted upon (not scheduled to start later, and not on hold in Someday); Today is the subset of those items which you actually plan to do today.

@culturedcode Why tasks scheduled for Today appear in Anytime list as well? It clutters Anytime list.

Things@culturedcode·
@SunilVeluchamy No, sorry! Once a database grows to hundreds of to-dos (not uncommon) a list to see them *all* becomes increasingly less useful. The Anytime list is typically the broadest available view, as it includes everything not scheduled (Today/Upcoming) or postponed/on hold (Someday).

Hi @culturedcode - Love Things 3. Would you consider adding 2FA to Things Cloud, plus a list of devices currently signed in? You already verify the first device via email with code, so extending that to every new sync would close a real gap. 🙏

@devidicus As you know, we typically avoid preannouncing stuff :) But of course we’re curious to see what any new-OS requirements there might be next month.

@culturedcode You must have the worlds largest user requests database in the world curated over many many years 😉 Ignoring T4 - is there any new feature coming to T3 to cheer us all up? And don’t say whatever iOS27 brings!
