As a dedicated volunteer for 4 years, #CupletFern member Cali Adams (center) gained valuable experience working in Florida's unique ecosystems. The experience helped the former preschool teacher land a new #job as an educator & animal caretaker for @SeminoleCounty Natural Lands!

For over a year, the #research team has been studying whether #seagrass fragmented into singular root/shoot components (ramets) grows faster than grass left connected (clonal fragments). Fragmented grass appears to consistently produced more shoots than clonal fragments.

Several #CupletFern members gathered this weekend to check on #nativeplants the chapter rescued from soon-to-be-developed scrub habitat in Seminole County & replanted in protected scrub habitat at Lyonia Preserve in Volusia County. The group saw evidence of the plants reseeding.
