And there we have it, in black and white! After 6 years of campaigning for safer routes to school, €650,000 allocated this year for segregated cycle lanes on the wdr. Thanks to the NTA, @GalwayCityCo, @GalwayCycling & all our supporters throughout the years 🥳🥳🚲🚴‍♀️ #CycleBus

Could this be the beginning of the end for the Knocknacarra cyclebus? We hoped to retire after a couple of years, but we'll happily bow out after 6 😊. Lots of positive things happening in Galway at the moment. Who would have thought!? Looking forward to seeing further details!

So ends year 5 of the Galway CycleBus! @GalwayCityCo have delivered & progressed some good active travel schemes recently & we have🤞 for rumoured but really ambitious plans on our route. Thanks to all the students,parents,schools, & marshals for their continued support #CycleBus

We're certainly getting there! And with the huge numbers of children cycling independently, in groups or with ourselves, what's really noticeable is how patient car drivers have become in the past few weeks. The warm weather has put everyone in a good mood!😊🌞🚲🌞

Great end to #BikeWeek on the cycle bus! There was on average over 120 children cycling into @GSMhicAmhlaigh nearly every day. The daily congestion was at the bike racks rather than vehicular traffic on the roads! #CycleBus 🚲🌞☺️

Thanks to @sharonmlynch for coming down to chat to us and some of the children about their experiences on the cycle to school. Recently, we've had good engagement with engineers from @GalwayCityCo so fingers crossed we might see some positive interventions soon 🤞

Today my #BikeLibrary was launched in 20 schools in @DubCityCouncil with the amazing support of @TFIupdates and @BleeperActive . It’s about giving families an alternative to their own private cars, in the hope they would cycle to school rather than drive. irishtimes.com/transport/2023…

Many families have contacted us to start a cyclebus from Raheen/Dooradoyle to city schools but it remains out of reach due to hostile nature of #SCR route. This is Milo’s daily commute navigating SCR w/ 🚘 🚖 separating him from his mom. So many ppl competing for so little space!
