@TajHotels It's very scary and disturbing to see bodyguards with assault rifles and handguns roaming in the lobby of your hotel, just because there is some rapper staying at your hotel. They are posing and getting photographed

A 1-2 for the farm as Vortex (Dreamfield-Legendofthephoenix by Win Legend) holds off Angelisa in the Forbes Breeders' Juvenile Fillies' Championship, Gr.3. Vortex is a Sixth Generation Dashmesh homebred, her 5th dam Ruby Dust was one of our foundation mares, further back there is Aurelie as the 7th dam, my grandfather collected her descendants in a manic fashion and here we are 50 years later. 😀

Interesting to note that the Niarchos Family bred yesterday’s dominant Gold Cup winner @CheltenhamRaces, one usually associates their bloodlines with excellence on the flat @FlaxmanSuperFan

@DenaliStud It was my first year in College in America when she duelled Flanders in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies one of the greatest races ever run. She went on to be a generational talent as a 3 year old and beyond. What a great mare she was. Condolences. youtu.be/MsdG_B1EliA?si…

What a privilege it has been. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hall of Famer and Champion Serena’s Song. She passed away peacefully from old age the morning of Wednesday, March 11th, and would have officially turned 34 on April 4th. Serena will be laid to rest at her lifelong home with us at Denali Stud. We would like to thank everyone for their continued love and support of her over the years, especially the Lewis family, and all of our staff and vets that cared for her on a daily basis. She meant the world to all of us, and changed us all for the better. We love you Serena, thank you for everything.

The Maharaja of Baroda, who set up @BarodaStudIre and owned Warren Place. He owned the 1947 St Leger and Irish Derby winner; Sayajirao who stood at his farm in Ireland. He was very active on the Indian racing scene too having bred and owned the Indian Derby winners; Jeanne D'arc (1948), Martial Law (1952) and Commoner (1954). The Baroda Stud is now owned by the Cox family and is a leading consignor at major European Sales. Warren Place is a major part of British racing history as the yard of iconic trainers, Sir Noel Murless and Sir Henry Cecil

Congratulations to @anhadsidhumrcvs on the opening of Akal Equine Hospital & Research Centre near Bathinda in Punjab. What I saw was an excellent facility, possibly the best in India. A lot of thought has gone into every single aspect of the hospital. Its also gives one a great sense of pride that a lad from our neck of the woods has gone all over the world, honed his skills and then come back home and set up this state of the art facility. Good Luck on your new venture Doc here’s wishing you great success, speaking on behalf of all Stud Farmers and horses in Punjab a big thank you and God Bless you

Condolences to the Poonawalla family on the death of Economics from colic. As a colleague of their’s in the industry I know how they must feel. Reading all these xenophobic comments about the Indian breeding industry is sad. Poonawalla Stud Farm like many in India is a world class facility with a seven decade record of excellence in breeding horses. Economics was retired to one of the world’s best homes any horse could have the good fortune of going to, his owners in India are fine people with a long and great history of looking after their horses. Their Champion gelding Mystical who won twice at the Dubai Carnival in 2007 lives out his days with the best care at Poonawalla Stud aged 24. Wootton Bassett dies shipping halfway across the world annually, none of these aftercare comments are made, when Exceller & Ferdinand are slaughtered none of these racist comments are made. When horses in National Hunt racing fall and die none of these comments are made. I see stallions bred to 400 plus mares across hemispheres year round looking haggard, no welfare comments are made by any of you. The facts are that Colic is a problem the world over and despite their best attempts to resolve the problem with the best care, unfortunately the horse succumbed to the affliction. I know we ain’t white but we do know how to look after our horses and better than ALL of you raging here, especially the idiot who doesn’t know the difference between India & Indiana! RIP Economics ☹️
Tinky@Tinky47flat

Speaking of aftercare and Lasix, Economics was known to have been a bad bleeder, yet was sold to stand at stud in India, and sadly met with a premature death. He earned almost 1m GBP on the track for his owners, and cases like this illustrate that it isn't only lesser horses, late in their lives, that suffer from dubious handling after their racing careers.
