I second that Vir, flew Delhi-Paris-Delhi, great service and on time. They have issues with their biz class seats on the Dreamliner but they kept them empty rather than put anyone in them (pic below). If I were flying Economy I’d have paid to use one of those bust seats for the extra leg space. It’s as if it’s the done thing to hate on Air India, though even domestically its a far far better option than Indigo and their bum numbing seats!

There is so much recent negativity about @airindia that I want to put this out.
I have taken 3 flights on @airindia in the last three days.
On Wednesday:Rome to Del
On Thursday: Del to Bom
On Friday: Bom to Del
In every single case the flight was on time. The inflight service was warm & efficient. Luggage came relatively quickly (quickest in Del)
The check in was entirely painless
I don’t think frequent travellers care as much as others about airline food but if you think that’s important then I had a very good dinner on Rome to Del.
On the international sector I
flew one of the older Dreamliners & I am not one of those aeroplane nerds but I thought
it was very comfortable.
It’s second nature for many
of us to bitch about @airindia but it’s one of only two international airlines I
fly regularly. The other is @emirates which admittedly is far better ( & far more expensive) but it is the best airline in the world so it’s better than every other carrier anyway.
The Tatas need to hold their nerve. There is a lot that is good about @airindia that rarely gets acknowledged

There was something nice about the way Item won the Dante today, like he was gaining experience with every stride. A female line descendant of Jim Joel’s blue hen mare; Picture Play who won the 1944 1000 Guineas. The 1967 Derby winner Royal Palace (Ballymoss) was a descendant of the same mare for his owner/breeder. Interestingly the majority of top runners in this family descend from Queen Of Light (Borealis). Item descends from Red Shoes (Bois Roussel) who is also the ancestress of St Leger & Oaks winner, User Friendly. Item’s dam, Capla Temptress (Lope De Vega) is a rarity in that she isn’t a multi generational @JuddmonteFarms homebred who bought her at the fag end of her racing career from @TeamValor who bought her after she won her first two starts and won the Natalma Stakes Gr.1 at Woodbine for them and @MarcoBotti she also ran fourth in the French 1000 Guineas.
