The hall of fame is in Toronto. Toronto has the most fans. The majority of players in the league are from either Toronto or close by. It’s not close and if you say Montreal you just hate Toronto, which helps prove the point even more.

Similar to the Devils in 2014 after the Kovalchuk contract debacle, the Ottawa Senators end up with the 32nd pick in the 2026 draft, rather than forfeiting it outright.
It effectively bumps everyone up a peg after Ottawa in the standings.
