January 4, 1969 - A crowd of 10,146 plus a regional TV audience watched Alabama defeat LSU 85-82 despite LSU's Pete Maravich scoring 42 points for the Tigers.
April 9, 1972 - The Boston Celtics defeated the Atlanta Hawks 127-118 behind 26 points each from Dave Cowens and John Havlicek. Atlanta was led by Pete Maravich with 37 points. The Celtics eliminated the Hawks in the best of 7 game series 4 games to 2.
March 16, 1971 - It wasn't always easy being Pistol Pete Maravich during his rookie year. The fans in Philadelphia made a less than warm welcome sign for Pete on his last visit to the city of Brotherly Love 🙄
April 6, 1968 - Day three of the 1968 Olympic Trials saw LSU's Pete Maravich get a little more playing time and finish the game with 12 points but only making 5-16 from the field.
April 5, 1968 - Olympic basketball fans were left to wonder why Coach John Bach didn't play Pete Maravich very much for the NCAA Blue squad. Pete would start but only play 9 minutes during the game and only score 6 points.
April 4, 1972 - The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics 112-110 to even the series at 2-2. Atlanta's Pete Maravich led the way with 36 points while Boston was led by JoJo White's 32 points.
April 2, 1972 - The Boston Celtics coasted to a 136-113 victory over the Atlanta Hawks to take a 2-1 series lead. John Havlicek led Boston with 31 points followed by JoJo White with 29 points while Atlanta was led by Pete Maravich with 37 points.
April 1, 1971 - The New York Knicks defeated the Atlanta Hawks 111-107 to win the series 4 games to one. Dave DeBusschere scored 29 points to lead the Knicks, while Pete Maravich led the Hawks with 31 points as his rookie season came to an end.
March 31, 1972 - The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics 113-104 behind Lou Hudson's 41 points to even the series at one game each. Atlanta's Pete Maravich added 16 points, and Jim Washington added 15 points.
March 30, 1968 - The West College All-Stars defeated the East College All-Stars 95-88 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Purdue's Rick Mount scored 24 points to lead the West All-Stars to the win, but it was LSU's Pete Maravich who was voted the game's MVP with 16 points and many assists.
March 28, 1971 - New York's Walt Frazier scored 29 points to lead the Knicks to a 110-95 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks were led by Walt Bellamy with 29 points followed by Pete Maravich with 22 points.
