I do not engage in cherry-picked verses because there was no chapter/verse system for the first thousand years of the Bible. Christians did not support “arguments” with singular “verses” without any context. It’s not historical.

Fellow cradle Orthodox Christians, this is for you. We have an epidemic of young men invading our parishes seeking to turn our faith into their little cult. Sometimes they are referred to as “Orthobros.” I can’t describe them, but you know one when you see one. They usually see Orthodoxy through the lens of their political ideology and are overly loyal to one jurisdiction or another while sowing division. The “Greek World” heresy is often popular in these groups. It is time for us to start putting our collective feet down. It is time for us to cry out, “Enough is enough!” Some of these young men are already being sent to seminary quickly after baptism. We’ve let this go too far. Something has to change. It is up to us. I hope you’ll join me in pushing back on this behavior. Orthodoxy simply cannot become the faith of the “Orthobros.”

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner - before the fire I myself have kindled consumes me forever. Amen.
