For every real position Pierre takes from here to the election like he did today on puberty blockers, he will secure 1 yes vote and lose two maybes. The math will become difficult as a consequence of courting many fringe blocs without ever building a true consensus beyond anger.

He has the Ford PCs down a *significant* amount from 53% to 44% over a few months. That's weird in itself, but especially weird when I've had the Ford PCs between 44-47% over the same period. To add to that the idea that the Ontario Liberal Party is currently polling higher than they were on Election Day 1 year ago, when they had a full time leader, a full team across Ontario, had just spent millions of dollars campaigning, earning tons of media coverage - compared to today, where they've had no real leader for months, are dead broke, and earning no media other than a whack of internal fighting and turf wars - that maybe reverberate south of Bloor - is a ridiculous idea as well. To suggest that the Carney Liberals are pulling the Ontario Liberals up is a theory worthy of consideration but not even close to a realistic conclusion based on facts. If that were the case, then why didn't the Carney Liberals (who were polling at 48-50 in the last provincial election) pull the Ontario Liberals up and over 30% on election day? The conclusion cannot be that the Carney Liberals have pulled the Ontario Liberals to 32% today. That's silly. But, at least it's not as bad as the recent Liason marketing release suggesting that the Ontario PCs were polling at 40% and the Ontario Liberals were now polling at 36%. I've got the Ontario Liberals at 25%. There's certainly a large deficit of critical thinking in the polling, marketing and media professions today - that's 100% certain, 20 times out of 20. 🤷🤷🤷

@dmacpher Fulton was the NDP MP for Bulkley Valley-Skeena. DFO was refusing to release water on a river up north to save a salmon run. So Fulton smuggled a salmon into the House (in his pant leg) and used it as a prop in his speech to save the salmon.

@dmacpher I think it was Jim Fulton that got props banned after he smuggled a salmon into the HoC.

Mid-Career Army Officer
I am once again begging people not to simply divide the contract value by the quantity and assuming that's the unit cost. 20-40% of any military contract is typically in-service support, spare parts, accessories, training, all necessary additional spending above item cost.

5/5 🩴 THE BITCOIN PIVOT: From "Shawarma Revolutionary" to Quiet Hibernation The Photo Op: In March 2022, Pierre Poilievre stood in Tahini’s Shawarma in London, ON, and famously paid for his lunch with Bitcoin. He used that moment to tell Canadians they could "opt out of inflation" by ditching the Canadian dollar for crypto. The Punchy Quote: At the time, he didn't just suggest Bitcoin; he championed it, saying: "Government is ruining the Canadian dollar... Canadians should have the freedom to use other money, such as bitcoin". He even proposed making Canada the "blockchain capital of the world". The Rogan Shift: Fast forward to March 2026. On the world’s biggest pro-crypto podcast, the "Shawarma Revolutionary" was surprisingly quiet about his old advice. The Pivot: Instead of telling Joe Rogan's millions of listeners to "opt out" with Bitcoin, he focused almost entirely on Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and "financial surveillance". The Reality: After the "Crypto Winter" saw Bitcoin users face an effective 40% inflation rate in a single year (while the CAD stayed in single digits), the bold 2022 slogans have vanished. The Bottom Line: In 2022, @PierrePoilievre used a sandwich shop to tell you Bitcoin was a safe haven from a "ruined" currency. In 2026, facing a tough fight against Mark Carney's Liberals, he has entered a "crypto hibernation." He’s still happy to attack the Bank of Canada, but he’s stopped telling you to bet your life savings on a shawarma-funded dream. 👇 Receipts: The Past: Watch the 2022 Tahini's video: "We bought the shawarma with Bitcoin!". The Present: Compare it to the 2026 Rogan interview—where the specific "opt-out" endorsement is replaced by generic anti-surveillance talk. The Math: Rabble.ca/CBC: "The 40.8% annual inflation rate for those who tried to opt out with Bitcoin".
