The world lost a giant today.
Rev. Jesse Jackson was a civil rights leader who fought to ensure that we lived up to the notion that, “all men are created equal”. There is still much work to be done in pursuit of racial justice, but we will be standing on his shoulders.

Thanks to everyone who braved the snow to join us in Waterloo this weekend. One story from a woman named Cheryl will stay with me. Cheryl and her husband are retired and are paying more of their income on groceries now than when they were raising two boys. Iowans deserve to retire with dignity, but Washington politicians like Ashley Hinson are only making things harder.

My friend @SenClaireCelsi has entered hospice care. She helped me orchestrate a press conference in 2022 to address a students shooting from my Alma mater @Dsmeast She also reached out to me during my surgery last month. Pray for my friend and her family during this season.
