i am sharing my shrimps today.

please research if your dog's breed is predisposed to primary glaucoma. if you notice your dog (or cat) squinting one eye, take them to the vet immediately ! my dog saw 3 different vets that reassured me she was just dealing with an infection and too young for it to be glaucoma. it took a 4th vet to check her eye pressures and confirm what was going on. glaucoma is extremely painful and can cause blindness very quickly. by the time the 4th vet diagnosed her, the retina in one of her eyes had already detached. i initially took kissy to the ER as soon as i saw her squinting one eye, but she was misdiagnosed. it's something you may have to push a regular vet about :( i had no idea glaucoma could afflict animals at such a young age so just want to spread the word !!

second surgery went well ! had a rough day after, but she's bounced back a lot. kissy is going blind due to primary glaucoma. one of her eyes was unsalvageable, but the surgeries in her still functioning eye will hopefully retain her vision for a while. she will likely go completely blind at some point in her life, but i think it's better she sees for as long as possible. the recovery isn't painful but is long and requires a lot of attention. she is not seeing very well right now and needs extra assistance on top of medication 6 times a day. i'll do whatever is needed for her !! thank you all for your kind messages and support during this time ! 🩷

@dogwithsocks Ah yeah I tend to keep things on the downlow for the artboards. I mainly organize it away from the public spaces just in case so shachi can get most, if not the full surprise. It was a very impromptu project this time too and I'm super happy with how many people wanted to help
