🚨HISTORY MADE! Rachel Entrekin just won the Cocodona 250 outright — first woman ever to take the OVERALL title! The 250-mile race from Phoenix to Flagstaff was an absolute beast, and she crushed it in 56:09:48, smashing the previous course record by over 2 hours. 13 minute mile pace for 56 hours! She only slept 3 times the entire race (one 5-min nap + two 7-min naps) and still dropped the entire elite men's field. Absolute legend!

I try to not work much on sundays but won’t flinch to get to it during planting and harvest. My question is do you work on Sunday if it allows you to get more family time later on?

Curious what you think I’ve done to “blackball myself” and what “stories” you’ve heard. As I’m sure you know by this point in life, there are always 2 sides of any story, and it seems odd that you’d choose to believe and repeat one side without ever speaking a word to me or hearing from me directly or being a teammate of mine to see how I actually interact with my teammates. All I do is try to win baseball games and help as many teammates as possible with whatever they’re going through. And no team has ever expressed any worries about my “clubhouse presence” in any conversations. In fact, they’ve all explicitly stated that they’ve done their research, spoken to former teammates and coaches and staff, and have absolutely no concerns about all of that bullshit. So, again, I’d be very curious to hear what you’re relying on to form these opinions of someone you’ve never spent any time around. Happy to discuss in any forum you’d like

@Hybridathlete Nah fuck that , only get so many races to do and even fewer when everything lines up perfectly. I ran a 50k , felt like shit after 25 and wanted to quit so bad. Took me Over 8 hours ( I should be 6.5) turned out I had pneumonia haha great memory tho!

Unfortunately, the shorts were not enough. Here’s a lesson for you that’s much easier said than done: Don’t race when you know you shouldn’t. 🙄 17:28 for the 5k, well off where I think I’m at right now (~16:45). Been mildly sick for the past couple days, nothing bad at all, but a bit sick with some congestion, sore throat, etc. Felt good enough this morning that I would have done my normal sub threshold workout today if it was a normal training day. But I really wanted to race and I convinced myself I felt good enough to race this morning. After mile 1 (5:29) I knew I wasn’t mentally or physically in a place to give it a full race effort so dropped pace/effort a bit (5:45/mi) to more of a hard 8/10 effort vs a full all out race effort. Avg and MHR ended up being just about 10bpm lower than it was on previous all out 5ks. I’m not sick enough where I think this race will extend recovery or affect my training next week, but in hindsight, I shouldn’t have done it. But sometimes you can’t really know until you try. That said, I was 90% sure it wasn’t going to go well. 😂 Next race is an 8k in 3 weeks.

Hard intervals are more mental than physical. Last Tuesday was a perfect example. At rep 4, I started to struggle. At rep 6, I decided 8 would be enough. First hard session after racing, no need to push it. Then during rep 8, something weird happened. I didn't feel as bad as rep 6. The finish line felt close. Almost too close. And it hit me: "Am I actually at my limit right now, or do I just not want to run 2 more because it hurts?" I gambled on the second one. Told myself I could still pull the plug mid-rep if I had to. Ran the final 2 reps the fastest of the session.
