Louder for those being yelled at by Fox News
Paul Graham@paulg

@shaunmmaguire They're not against America. They're against Trump. Trump is harming American interests and, more dangerously, undermining the principles that make America great. By opposing him, they're supporting America.

@RepBaumgartner Maybe rein in ICE, Trump, and his inept cabinet (i.e., fulfill your constitutional role as the dominant branch of government, not be subservient to a maniac POTUS)

I’m fully aware that this job requires tons of travel and crazy hours, but it does indeed bug me that I’m here in DC at 11:30pm voting (for the 4th time!) to fully fund the Homeland budget and missing my kids hoops game tomorrow morning back in Washington because the Senate pulled their BS stunt last night. 🇺🇸

I use Gemini for probably 98/99% of writing in scope docs that I’m going to share with clients. It’s great at filling in the holes and reducing my jargon. I used Grammarly’s AI detection tool on the doc today and got 26% resembles AI. We have a long way to go in detecting AI.

@ZenoPopovici @jeffr0 Automattic is a company no different than WP Engine. They’ve received VC funding and have investors too. Their choice to support the open source project as they have is commendable, but it’s not a requirement of OSS and using the WP . Org to air his personal feelings is petty

@jeffr0 How deep. How much does it cost Automattic to help develop WP and run everything… you’re just assuming. He didn’t weaponize anything. WP Engine is taking over and if let it will be transforming the ecosystem to match its business interest.

Imagine owning a WordPress products company and wanting the platform to continue to succeed so that it brings you more customers. But the leader of WordPress keeps doing shit that's out of your control to drive people away. That's reality for a lot of people.

…with a client I’ve worked with for 6 years about migrating their site off WordPress. These petty posts are doing nothing to push the platform forward for serious businesses that evaluate risk in every decision they make.

I spent almost 15 years making a living from WordPress and Matt cratered that with his WCUS public shakedown of WP Engine. When the news hit mainstream press, I had enterprise clients kill WP and switch to other platforms (Drupal won big time). I had another convo today…

Dear @bgardner, is it a violation of @FTC paid influencer disclosure guidelines to quote complimentary things about @wpengine in @therepositorywp when you sponsor them? Do you have financial relationships with others quoted in the article?

Stumbling across an online debate of how it’s dumb to keep more than $250k in your business account because the bank might fail. Account in question is at Chase. If JPMC fails, FDIC insurance coverage is the least of our worries.

Earlier this week I had a client reach out because their industry is getting peppered with ADA compliance lawsuits. Their WordPress site was ~90% WCAG and W3C compliant.. That last 10% was mostly filters to cleanup HTML markup. Would releasing the code on GitHub help anyone else?

@marcusdburnette I would say yes. I built this as a native server script a few years ago because of the on-page processing options available at the time.

If you wanted to optimize 1000 images in your #WordPress site - JPG to webP - but you had to keep the tab open to do so, is that a deal-breaker?

@asmartbear My version of stealth mode was when I didn’t know what the hell I was doing post-exit. Totally agree that no one cares what you’re shouting as much as you think they do

“I’m in stealth mode!” Yeah, everyone always starts in stealth mode. When you’re ready to “tell the world,” surprise! Almost no one cares. It will take everything you have to get even a few people to notice. So, maybe cool it with the stealth mode.

Setting up @mercury personal. Is there no way to require approvals before an ACH Debit is processed on my account? This feature on my Mercury biz account has saved us before, and it seems like an oversight if it's not on the personal plan.
