Cops lied—her car was driving away from where officers stood.
"I raised my baby up to show them that he was in the car," she says.

Learning that it's wrong to conduct an armed pursuit through the neighborhood for someone who didn't actually commit the crime you said he did, isn't a dire consequence. It should be common sense.
