6 April 1965. The BAC TSR.2 (tactical strike and reconnaissance aircraft) was cancelled by Labour P.M. Harold Wilson’s government in favour of the planned General Dynamics F-111 for the Royal Air Force. All airframes were ordered to be destroyed and burned.

@ConfessionsPete Saw this recently on Talking Pictures and thought it was ok, but James Booth really wasn’t cut out for comedy and delivers one of the most dislikable lead performances I think I’ve ever seen. Fraser was good (as always) though.

Underwhelming quad poster for a fun little film - what a cast

Some great shots of the filming of the titles for series 3 of The Plane Makers have suddenly surfaced online. Absolutely criminal they shot it on V/T. And mad they built such a huge model.

@DA_WooGo Fragment of Fear is a great film. Serafian was a very talented director (even when drunk) and deserves a lot more recognition than he’s ever received.

Noticed the remains of a Double Diamond beer sign at Sydenham station. It’s on the side of The Pavilion pub. I imagine it all looked very smart when they hung it.
