Thrilled to share our new paper on Dance🕺 in @CurrentBiology! We find that music🎶 and partner💃 driven synchronies unfold independently, even when they occur simultaneously. How? Thanks to a spatial, geometric organization. doi.org/10.1016/j.cub.… 1/n - More details below 👇

The paper came out today in @NatureComms! We're grateful to the reviewers who committed their valuable time to the process. If you're seeing this, I hope by now you've had the chance to enjoy these dynamics in your own kitchen... link.springer.com/article/10.103…

It turns out that sparkling water and raisins are *fascinating*. My daughter and I happened upon this effect playing together in the kitchen a long time ago, and I couldn't help but explore the system more deeply... 1/n arxiv.org/abs/2308.12927

Cell groups migrating along self-generated gradients will periodically shed clumps of cells in a spotted pattern. This is seen in Dictyostelium, a classic model system of chemotaxis, yet these dynamics are not predicted by current models of motile cell groups. What was missing?
