@e_f_bartlam @wizwaz63 Lucky you’re not Jamaican too then, or from Noo Yawk. You’d be spitting feathers at his accent there. Luckily it’s not a big deal and their music is so good. A staggering amount of American bands mimic them, and the Beatles, too. Yet never match them. Go figure

It wasn’t a full throated sing-a-long or anything…but you could hear the melody being hummed and mumbled from every direction.

I’m in Memphis tonight. I ate at Corky’s, not because I’m choosing favorites but, because it was across the street. The bar maid, who was lovely, sang along to every song; however, when Elvis came on…the whole restaurant sang along. Return to Sender! It was as awesome 😝

@wizwaz63 @SalvadorDafti The intent is not the problem. David Allan Coe is at his very best when he’s having a go. As a Brit, you may not be aware of how often we are bombarded with fake Southern accents in U.S. media. It can be offensive but not in this case. Just cringy.
