BREAKING: Israeli Forces and Settlers Retaliate Against Palestinian Activist Featured in BBC’s The Settlers Prominent Palestinian human rights activist Issa Amro—recently featured in @louistheroux’s BBC documentary The Settlers—shares video of Israeli soldiers raiding his home in Hebron today in retaliation for his appearance in the film. After they left, settlers stormed the house, assaulted him and others, cut down trees, and stole tools and garbage containers. Amro shares video of an exchange with an Israeli police officer later who threatened him with arrest if he filed a complaint. Amro is the founder of Youth Against Settlements (YAS), a nonviolent group that documents Israeli abuses and organizes peaceful resistance in the occupied West Bank. He has long faced retaliation from both Israeli forces and the Palestinian Authority. In 2017, he was arrested by the PA for criticizing its leadership online.
