OpenAI just rolled out a $100/month ChatGPT Pro plan. So OpenAI now has 2 ChatGPT Pro plans for individuals: Pro $100/month and Pro $200/month. This new $100 Pro tier still offers access to all Pro features, including the exclusive Pro model and unlimited access to Instant and Thinking models. The only difference between $200/month vs $100/month plans is the usage limits. The $100/month Pro plan will offer 5x usage when compared to ChatGPT Plus, while the $200/month plan will offer 20x the usage. This is really a pricing fight over who owns the heavy daily coder, because both companies already know casual users will stay on cheaper plans while serious software work needs far higher message and compute limits. The product change is simple: Plus at $20 stays for regular use, the new Pro at $100 offers about 5x more Codex capacity, and OpenAI still keeps its $200 Pro tier for the heaviest users.

TBPN has been acquired by OpenAI The world is changing quickly but TBPN will stay the same. Live every weekday just with a lot more resources. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this journey big or small. We are 17 months in and unironically just getting started.

New Anthropic research: Emotion concepts and their function in a large language model. All LLMs sometimes act like they have emotions. But why? We found internal representations of emotion concepts that can drive Claude’s behavior, sometimes in surprising ways.
