Je gaat aan 1 van de 2 ruziemakers op het schoolplein toch ook geen stok geven? Je haalt ze uit elkaar. Toch? Of zouden wij wellicht andere belangen hebben?

Ik mag hopen dat dit een fout is. Een niet-EU-staat (die lidmaatschap ambieert!) vernietigt een *vitale* structuur van twee EU-leden. Óf dit is een smerig politiek spelletje van deze twee landen ten koste van de eigen bevolking, óf de VS proberen een wig te drijven, óf het is wraak van Oekraïne. Indien dat laatste: ik ben sceptisch over de houding die de EU hierin zal aannemen. Waarschijnlijk zal ook dan gesuggereerd blijven worden dat het een van de twee eerste hypotheses was.

Precies. Christen zijn gaat over transformatie. Socialisme over herverdeling. Die vorm heeft best lang standgehouden maar is niet langer houdbaar. Een overheid die haar eigen bevolking, haar gezin, in de Paulinische logica, schaadt door ongecontroleerde instroom te faciliteren, handelt onchristelijk. Niet christelijk. De overheid die verzorgingshuizen sluit terwijl ze miljarden uitgeeft aan asielopvang, die gezinnen zonder woning laat zitten terwijl statushouders voorrang krijgen, die overheid verzaakt haar primaire roeping. Donald Trump didn’t ask Putin for anything at all. No one knew about any “ceasefire” until Trump himself started talking about it. He simply made it up on the fly, just to get himself another dose of boundless self-adoration, which he craves like a drug. The Russians quickly decided to play along with that boastful bravado, nodded, and a couple of days later struck Ukraine’s heating infrastructure exactly as they had planned, right at another peak of cold. There needs to be a word far stronger than PATHETIC to describe this abomination, but that’s not a news really at this point.

Grappig dat mensen stellen dat Trump 'in ieder geval iets doet' aan het deporteren van illegale immigranten. President Obama deporteerde 5.2 miljoen immigranten. Hij deed dat echter met inachtneming van regels en waarborgen en deporteerde alleen mensen die illegaal de grens over waren gestoken cq een strafblad hadden voor 'serious crimes'.
