@clockstiqqun there isn't really any meaningful distinction (sonically) between country and blues music until around world war ii. westerns and rock n roll played a pretty big role in changing the sound of country music to be closer to what it is now

what's interesting about this is that- ignoring the soundtrack, which i've not heard- the separation of blues and country happened because segregationist record labels needed some way of informing the audience of the race of the performer. this is Strom Thurmond Thought
