this is also why I find people who reject puberty blockers annoying assholes; some of us are lucky to still look young in our late 20s or early 30s, so passing will be less difficult for us; but for many, puberty means large chunks of the population will never fully accept you

@shrugdeaIer It's actually the opposite of capitalism. They can't give away the food because of government regulations. Restrictions. Restrictions that if violated, will lead to lawsuits. It's big government that's forcing this food in the trash, not capitalism. Stop lying.

Yes, is capitalism. When I worked the bagel shop, we weren’t allowed to give unhoused people free food or coffee but threw away dozens of bagels at the end of each day. Spoiler alert: we fed everyone we could and took home bagels to hand out afterwards. Fuck ‘em.

An American showed what his local Krispy Kreme does with unsold donuts at night. Straight into the trash. After private equity took over, the price of a dozen climbed to $22. And instead of selling them cheaper… They’d rather WASTE the food than lower the profit margin.
