By 2024 the US economy was 29.2 trillion dollars against China's 18.9 trillion, a gap that has widened for three straight years. China's working-age population is shrinking. Its fertility rate has fallen to roughly 1.0, half of replacement. There is no immigration to compensate. Yet America benefits from believing it faces a formidable rival. The belief is what keeps it competing.

@Fengyi1811 @ZhixinZhong 你是真傻还是假傻？香港以前的繁荣建立在大陆与欧美相互封锁，但又需要一个双方都信任的口岸，香港作为资金港而繁荣，跟制度有屁的关系。现在大陆强大了，深圳、宁波、上海这些口岸替代了香港的功能而已，香港目前还存在是因为中国不放开外汇市场，仍然是外资进入中国的通道。
