@DavidMoss Maintaining that level of focus on the road the entire time just to prevent any disconnects requires serious endurance. That’s an impressive level of commitment. If Tesla’s FSD were truly autonomous, it would have made the whole experience far easier.

I am proud to announce that I have successfully completed the world’s first USA coast to coast fully autonomous drive! I left the Tesla Diner in Los Angeles 2 days & 20 hours ago, and now have ended in Myrtle Beach, SC (2,732.4 miles) This was accomplished with Tesla FSD V14.2 with absolutely 0 disengagements of any kind even for all parking including at Tesla Superchargers.

@niccruzpatane Your comparison assumes Tesla is autonomous, which is simply not the case. Tesla still self classifies FSD as SAE Level 2, while Waymo operates at Level 4. Until Tesla actually achieves the same level as Waymo, the comparison is premature.

Below are a couple of videos from 2015 where Elon says that fully autonomous Tesla vehicles are "a few years" and "5-6 years" away. Best case, that still makes Tesla 5-6 years late. This proves that Tesla has and most probably continues to be further away from solving full autonomy than they lead Tesla buyers and shareholders to believe. bloomberg.com/news/videos/20… youtu.be/TDm6Snkle70?si…

Tesla spent more than a decade in supervised FSD while repeatedly saying unsupervised autonomy was just around the corner. Unsupervised autonomy may have seemed like it was just one version away, but in practice it is more like walking toward the horizon. You appear to get closer, but actually reaching it is another matter.

@ericnashbar @Tesla Supervised and unsupervised are two different things. Basically, supervised is unsupervised without fault. I believe unsupervised is usually 1 version ahead.

@feyereisen63002 @Tesla Though more convenient than driving without it, that required level of attention is not sufficient for an robotaxi.

@ericnashbar @Tesla I gaze off for minutes. Works pretty damn good. No nagging so make the whole trip without ever touching the steering wheel. Name me one other car that can drive me from my city house to remote cabin on unmarked road without ever touching the steering wheel?

@johnstribe @Tesla That’s like saying you don’t want a smartphone because the flip phone you just bought already makes calls, and that’s all you want. 🤔

The ARR seems inflated. At $29.99 per year per user, you would need 1.7M paid users to get a $50M ARR. With 1M downloads on Android and an estimated 2M downloads on Apple, that would mean just about all of your downloads signed up for a paid account. Not a reasonable assumption. Therefore the $50M ARR seems inflated. What am I missing?

Cal AI has been acquired by MyFitnessPal 🚨 Henry and I started Cal AI as 17-year old high school students with one mission: make calorie tracking easier with AI. In just 18 months, we’ve helped millions of people lose millions of pounds. And we broke $50m in ARR along the way. We are at an incredible inflection point in history where ANYBODY can build a product that can improve lives and make millions. As founders, we get a lot of praise. The truth is that this would not have been possible without our incredible 30+ person team. We are so proud of what this team has accomplished, and are thankful to everyone that has been instrumental in Cal AI’s development and success. Cal AI will continue as a separate app from MyFitnessPal. The combined team will share resources to continue helping people achieve their fitness goals!

@mikepat711 Tesla FSD = 96% = Level 2 = no looking away from the road for more than 5 seconds Waymo = 100% = Level 4 = 200 million miles completely driverless in 10 cities Any questions?

@gaganbiyani If I were a university admissions officer I would either think he was lying or he doesn't really need the education and would potentially take a spot from somebody who would benefit from it.

The US is no longer the global leader in research output. In the CWTS Leiden output focused rankings, Chinese universities now surpass US institutions. In 2010, only one Chinese university ranked in the top 25. Today, 19 do, including the top two. US universities need to refocus on what truly drives academic excellence. traditional.leidenranking.com/ranking/2025/l…

Once again, this underscores that the Founding Fathers clearly intended a strong separation of church and state, and no modern slogan or political reframing can alter that original intent. That principle has served the country well from the beginning, and it is where we should remain.

@adrian_kaehler As one of the original creators of what is now @Waymo, curious as to your opinion on whether you think @Tesla will be able to get to SAE Level 4+ driverless autonomy without lidar.

@rosanga1000 @stats_feed Of course, it's important to have a functioning brain. My point was that reading and memory are less important because of technology. Fluid intelligence is still monumentally important.

Neuroscientist study reveals that Gen Z has become the first generation to be less intelligent than its predecessor, the Millennials. For the first time in 100 years, young people are scoring lower than their parents on IQ tests and core skills like memory, reading, and focus. This is happening mainly in the US and Europe. The main cause appears to be excessive screen time and digital device use, particularly in schools and social settings. While some suggest Gen Z is just developing different skills, research shows actual declines in fundamental problem-solving abilities.

@elonmusk Contrarian view: If Tesla ultimately determines that autonomous driving is not achievable without Lidar, the shift away from flat rate pricing allows the company to end subscriptions while limiting potential liability to customers who purchased the flat rate plan.

NEWS: Tesla’s FSD (Supervised) has won MotorTrend’s Best Driver Assistance Award. “After years of criticizing @Tesla’s erratic driver assistance tech, we’ve been converted into acolytes by the latest release, V14. FSD now delivers a hands-off experience that routinely navigates from driveway to parking spot—and back again—all while ensuring the driver’s attention stays focused on the road.”
