@JoshuaK74492 @mgsiegler @nothing I doubt they’d do this, but I wish they would. @nothing are doing a great job at exploring what an interface - hardware and software – might be.
We can wish.

@jlgolson @kotecinho Shameless. On a brighter note, I enjoyed your article.

@kotecinho For the whole story, read the article I wrote that he ripped off: prndlcars.com/p/what-they-co…

LoveFrom didn’t begin with sketches.
They began with six months of research, culminating in four weighty books delivered to Ferrari.
Printed in Italian and English, the volumes dissected philosophy, design heritage, Ferrari’s cultural meaning in Italy, and the interplay between attention and touch.
These were not mood boards, but structured arguments — challenging accepted ideas, reinforcing others, and setting out the first principles for what a car interior should be in 2026.

@colineckert Hi Colin, Just a wee note to thank you for your Obsidian × Things theme. As a long term Things lover, I was delighted to discover it!
Perfect.

@FendiiWilliams Delighted to discover I wasn’t the only one who caught this and thought… er… thrust? #SkyscraperLIVE

I hope it’s not to ‘add a little danger’ to spice up the broadcast. #SkyscraperLIVE

Why does Honnold need to scale those ‘dragons’ when he could bypass them and climb the parts of the building that look considerably less dangerous?

Sadly it’s raining in Taipei right now so I don’t get to go climbing today. But I’ve been really touched by all the support and well wishes from folks - hopefully the weather improves and I get an opportunity to climb the beautiful Taipei 101. Fingers crossed! #Newsnight Oh Lordy, Carla Sands is back. This crank is ridiculous. I'm getting really tired of Newsnight going to the same tedious MAGA faces. They offer nothing.

#newsnight Good for Steve Baker challenging Carla Sands defending the indefensible. Never thought I would ever say this.
English

@eljmayes Unbelievable. It’s staggering that she doesn’t simply apologise.

Carla Sands has got me cheering on Steve Baker here.
Absolute scenes.

@BasicAppleGuy @BasicAppleGuy This is a message I sent a fellow UI designer and teacher (which is what I used to be, i.e. a practicing designer focused on UI and experience design) helping found startups.
The rounded corners. Eurgh. Sacrificing battery for experience. Not a great trade-off.

The draw system for the #fifaworldcup #worldcupdraw is utterly bamboozling. You need a mathematics degree to understand it.
Rio Ferdinand had to be given an explanation by some kids, (he) made a tonne of notes, and I have absolutely no idea how it works. *

@MurphyNiallGLA @GlasgowHeritage Passing through George Square always reminds me of Mum and Dad (especially Dad).
I have such fond memories of walking through the square after dinner at Madha, accompanying them back to Queen Street Station.
/* PS We still need to talk! 😂 */
English

If you are passing Glasgow’s George Square you may notice that a birds nest scaffolding is gradually rising up around the Monument to Sir Walter Scott which is need of repair having occupied the centre of the square since 1838.
Glasgow’s monument to Scott preceded the better known Edinburgh equivalent by almost a decade. The figure of Scott at the top of the column was by the self-trained Scottish sculptor John Greenshields who became famous when his work was promoted by Scott. Sadly, Greenshields, the natural choice for the commission, died in 1835 so did not get to see his sculpture of Scott atop the finished monument.
The design of the monument was won in competition by the Edinburgh architect David Rhind. It is a sophisticated variation on Trajan’s column in Rome with the fluted column and the base being rather different to the original. That it cost £1,710 in 1839 was considered excellent value for money especially when compared to equivalent monuments in Edinburgh.
Unfortunately, we are paying for that now as thanks to nearly 190 years of the stonework enduring Glasgow’s pollution it is not in a happy way! That the monument was probably the first example of chemical stone cleaning in Glasgow - allegedly, Ted Heath was so impressed by the sight of the newly honey coloured stone monument amongst the soot blackened facades of Glasgow he released funding for further stone cleaning in the city - hasn’t helped with the fluting on the column becoming friable and delaminating.
In 2018, prior to the European Championships, there was an attempt to indent new stone fluting from a cherry picker. Unfortunately, this proved very difficult to achieve resulting in damaged areas of stone. Hopefully, the bird cage scaffolding will provide a much better working platform with which to carry out these much needed conservation repairs.

@MurphyNiallGLA @BBCNews @GlasgowHeritage Is the mosaic stained glass (looking at your other picture, below)? Enamel?
/* Also, we need to talk. 🤗*/
English

There’s a lovely article on @BBCNews today about the ancient well in the crypt of Glasgow Cathedral and the archaeological dig to undercover its secrets as part of #Glasgow850 Led by the Aproxima Creative Collective team, the work, which was part funded by @GlasgowHeritage includes a very beautiful glass mosaic installation by Scottish artist Joanna Kessel which celebrates and draws attention to what is arguably the starting point of the city of Glasgow and underscores its deep spiritual significance:
