The answer is not extreme protectionism in seeking to build everything domestically at any cost. It's the UPI playbook. Let the government underwrite the compute infrastructure. Let a consortium of private firms, researchers and startups develop competitive sovereign models. Then let the private sector innovate on top. It worked for payments. The land acquisition battles, the forest clearances, the engineering in impossible terrain, the sheer organisational will it demands. That forgetfulness, if it comes, will itself be a measure of how normalised our massive infrastructure build is now.

My reason for feeling patriotic is quite straightforward The Republic has taken care of my family for 4 generations My great grandfather was a govt servant, he got salary from Indian govt, gave good education to my grandfather My grandfather became a govt servant, got salary from Indian govt and raised my Father well My father became a govt servant, got salary from Indian govt and raised me in a good environment The Republic has given good reputation, standard of life, financial stability to 4 generations of my family The situation of our Republic could have been like the cluster fuck that is our neighbours or any middle eastern or sub Saharan country Yes, We have our deficiencies, sometimes it gets on my nerves and I feel like running to Arctic circle but I cannot complain when I can still dream of a better life and work towards that, in a stable and manageable environment I can raise my voice if I see any injustice and not get jailed Keeping all this fact in mind, The least I can do is be patriotic and loyal to this country, ready to give my blood when time comes
