Arnold Bennett’s The Grand Babylon Hotel @NewVicTheatre in association with Claybody Theatre is the intriguing, rollicking and farcical caper I hoped it would be, and more! The highfaluting storylines cleverly teased out of Bennett’s serialised work by acclaimed artistic director, Deb McAndrew, were menu perfect. Who’d have thought a request for steak and a bottle of Bass beer could be so overindulgent?

Tonight we welcome MADULA back to the stage with ‘Joined by a Drum’ – a showcase of work from across North Staffs communities and age groups, celebrating diversity through Ugandan music & dance. This exciting Showcase is a culmination of an international creative partnership with Madula and MamaMusic School Uganda, joined in the UK by @NVBorderlines
