@robprogressive Read in my local paper Glasgow has £m’s of unpaid business rates they haven’t collected. But that’s ok, the homeowners are easy targets for councils who just put the deficit on to them. 😡

Council tax has hit £5,031 in some parts of the UK
And it’s gone up every single year for 25 years
Yet now we sort our own rubbish
Bin collections are reduced
There are F*cking potholes everywhere
Police and social care are worse
Libraries are closing & homelessness is rising
Why are we paying more & getting less
English

@timreay @accountingetc Absolute rubbish. The UK can afford to look after its pensioners. It can’t afford the uncontrolled immigration we have at the moment. That’s the real problem.
English

@accountingetc 1/Not really because it's a silly system that gives pensioners disproportionate increases if inflation and national average earnings fluctuate differently. If we linked pensions to national average earnings then pensioners wouldn't be made poorer any more than anyone else.
English

@realninawysocka @BillyB_UK This has got to stop. Nobody knows under this Labour Gov who’s in charge anymore. Too many Offices running the Government.
English

@EssexPR @suestephenson99 What’s more worrying is who’s in charge, is it the Home Office, Foreign Office, our PM, who is it. 🤷♀️who’s making the decisions that’s affecting the whole of the UK, if it’s not the present Labour Gov.
English

@MartinDaubney Starmer was right about not dragging us into the Iran war and it bolstered his standing, but errors like this are ruinous. The whole of the UK knew Mandelson was not a great choice for US Ambassador, for Starmer to survive he needs to do a massive clear out.

English

@MartinDaubney @suestephenson99 To think Boris got hounded over a piece of birthday cake. Seriously, Mandelson was in the job for approx 7 months and nobody noticed or said he had failed the vetting process. But it’s all good now, they’ve found a scapegoat to take the blame.
English

Milk, eggs and bread have been cheap for centuries and still are. What people are actually struggling with is their rent and council tax rising every two minutes, among other things. All so they can fund the bloated public sector.
This has to be the worst manifesto I have ever seen.

@fmac36 @JohannLamont I used to work in the Asda Living store in Glasgow. Kids used to love coming in and picking all their school stuff, bags, pencil cases, and all the bits and pieces. How many are going to want to be the same as everyone else? @theSNP @ScotGovFM @JohnSwinney 🤬

Best start in life - a free bag. Good. Grief. Is this where we are now?
John Swinney@JohnSwinney
Especially at a big moment like starting school, I want every child in Scotland to have the best start in life. Building on the success of the Baby Box, we will introduce a Welcome to School Bag - supporting families and children with stationery, books and other helpful items.

Let me get this right. If they introduce dildos into parliament there will be less sexual offences?

THIS IS JUDGE MAGGIE SCOTT
She let child rapist Daniel Cieslak, who r*ped a 12-YEAR-OLD girl, WALK FREE from her courtroom. But guess what folks? Not only that!
She gave him an ABSOLUTE DISCHARGE, despite him pleading GUILTY.
She also sparked outrage by praising Algerian rapist Hamadache Hamza for settling in Britain and setting up a hairdressing business.
She said that the predator deserved “credit” for overcoming his “very difficult background” to become a successful business owner in Scotland.

@Samanth43010302 Going by reading this. He shouldn’t have been sacked for this. The man has a living to make. Just like the ones making these decisions.

@JohnCon72636524 Read yesterday that Glasgow is owed £100m in business rates. Again it’s the council tax payer that foots the bill for all this. Make those businesses pay up, or shut them down. Why is the council lumbering this on to homeowners.
English

@Keir_Starmer Correct. Start charging those who come here to use it and then scraper without paying.
