@Tom__Capital Baffling how we’ve ended up in this situation. Governments historically chasing short-term fixes to the balance sheet have left us owning virtually zero assets. Truly troubling economic conditions.

Australia with apopulation of ~28mio, roughly 5 times that of Norway, and vastly abundent in natural resources had the potential to build something comparable to Norways SOV wealth fund, which stands at~2.2 trillion USD in assets, or the equivalent to hundreds of thousands of dollars per citizen.
This fund helps finance public services, free education, healthcare, social welfare...the list goes on
By contrast, Austalias resource wealth flowed into private profits and short term budgets rather than creating a SWF.
Successive governments across boh parties have prioritized short sighted political gains to remain in power over the national interest of all Australians, the result is we missed out.
Instead, Australian are left with Government debt approaching 1 trillion dollars, a housing and affordability crisis
Is it to late? I have no idea, but why dont Australians demand that politicians push for a Strategic Commodity Reserve, deem certain critical commodites in the National interest, take strategic stakes in resource companies etc Are we the only major economy where the Government doesnt prioritize this?
Time to change course and demand better🇦🇺

It takes a truly incompetent set of successive politicians at every level of government to transform this resource rich nation into a country with growing wealth disparity, stagnant productivity, anaemic economic growth and declining living standards.

I think what's sad for the most part and what most every day Australians dont understand is that Australia's job growth is a mirage: ~80% of new roles since 2023 are government-funded, often low-skilled to absorb mass immigration
This isn't sustainable. When budgets tighten, these jobs vanish—exposing the real unemployment picture
In the interim, immigration + gov spending keeps inflation hot, forcing RBA to hike, and hike they will which will hammer the private economy and housing once more, and no doubt will lead to people outside of the givernment sector losing their jobs yet again.
English

Uh oh 👀
Australia’s dollar climbed to a 15-month high after jobs numbers smashed forecasts.
Markets are now pricing in a rate hike as soon as next month.
So we will be one of the only advanced nations to raise interest rates.
You get what you vote for.

@toly We just quietly ordered a Seeker to show some love for the Solana ecosystem. Nothing flashy, just adding our small support to keep things moving forward in a fun, meme-friendly way. Simple as a cat in a bag. Who's thinking about grabbing one too? store.solanamobile.com

I hope the dressing room is offering that guidance without suppressing his confidence and youthful enthusiasm.
