"We take for granted the degree of peace we’ve enjoyed over the past eight decades. We think that’s the norm. The norm is actually a lot more like what the world looked like before 1945. I don’t think people are ready for the world we’re now moving into."

The Department of Education’s newly proposed definition of “professional degrees” excludes public health. This change restricts access to federal loan support and undermines efforts to prepare the public health workforce. Share your concerns! More at bit.ly/4o7QvwU.

Remember, the Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers in Auschwitz.
It started with politicians dividing the people with “us vs. them”.
It started with intolerance and hate speech.
It started when people stopped caring, became desensitized, and turned a blind eye.
Remember.

Don’t let them get you twisted.
No Kings isn’t a hate rally.
There has been no evidence of that.
I’ve been speaking to people about the upcoming NK protests and they see it as a show of patriotism.
A cry from American people who still believe in the promise of no kings.
Who still believe a government should serve the governed, not the gold-plated few.
It breaks my heart that Americans feel they must take to the streets in mass just to remind those in power: we will not accept a fascist takeover of a free nation.
In America, working people can’t afford health care, dental care, or insurance. These are facts.
More than half of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
The majority of America’s wealth is owned by the same billionaires, and they run our country.
One out of every three dollars of wealth is in the hands of an “elite.”
Our elders are dying without homes — priced out of the dignity they earned.
And while the people suffer, those in power toast beneath gilded chandeliers.
No Kings isn’t about hate.
It’s about remembrance.
About what the Constitution meant when it said “We the People.”

Most Republicans are good people. Most Democrats are good people.
The White House says outrageous things to make you hate your neighbor.
Your neighbor isn’t the problem. The White House is.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV enrages MAGA world by releasing his first major document urging every Catholic in the world to help migrants who all have "Christ himself" inside them — a powerful rebuke of Donald Trump's hateful policies.
This just went off like a bombshell for 1.4 billion Catholics...
The historic document entitled “I Have Loved You” states that caring for the poor also means "fighting against the structural causes of poverty," an unthinkable idea to American Evangelicals who fetishize wealth and billionaire tax cuts.
"No Christian can regard the poor simply as a societal problem," wrote Leo, adding that they are “part of our ‘family’" and they are "one of us." At a time when conservatives are gutting social programs and slashing Medicaid funding, this message is particularly potent.
But it's the section on migrants that has Republicans really up in arms...
"The Church, like a mother, accompanies those who are walking. She knows that in every rejected migrant, it is Christ himself who knocks at the door of the community," Leo wrote.
Recently, the pope urged U.S. Bishops to speak out "strongly" to support migrants against Trump's escalating immigration crackdowns.
In the new document, he writes that the "experience of migration" is woven into the history of the Church, pointing to Abraham setting out "without knowing where he is going," Moses leading his people out of slavery into the desert, and Mary and Joseph fleeing with an infant Jesus into Egypt.
Quoting his predecessor Pope Francis, Leo wrote that Christians must use four verbs for migrants: "welcome, protect, promote and integrate." Francis began the 104-page document but died before it was finished so Leo took up the task of finishing it, explaining: "I am happy to make this document my own — adding some reflections.”
"The Church, like a mother, accompanies those who are walking," wrote Leo. "Where the world sees threats, she sees children; where walls are built, she builds bridges. She knows that her proclamation of the Gospel is credible only when it is translated into gestures of closeness and welcome. And she knows that in every rejected migrant, it is Christ himself who knocks at the door of the community."
The bit about walls is a clear reference to Trump's infamous border wall and a clear rejection of the animating xenophobia at the rotten core of the MAGA movement. Real Christians should welcome and care for migrants. MAGA Christians want them pepper-sprayed, zip-tied, and terrorized by ICE agents.
The document also tackles the growing corrosive power of billionaires like Elon Must who are using their money to place themselves above the law. It criticizes an economic system in which "earnings of a minority are growing exponentially, so too is the gap separating the majority from the prosperity enjoyed by those happy few."
"A new tyranny is being born, invisible and often virtual, which unilaterally and relentlessly imposes its own laws and rules," wrote Leo.
"There is no shortage of theories attempting to justify the present state of affairs or to explain that economic thinking requires us to wait for invisible market forces to resolve everything," the pope wrote.
"The poor are promised only a few 'drops' that trickle down, until the next global crisis brings things back to where they were," he added.
"Either we regain our moral and spiritual dignity or we fall into a cesspool," the pope wrote in one particularly striking passage.
This document is a battle cry for Christian love and perfectly articulates the true message of Jesus Christ. The fact that Republicans are already raging against it exposes the truth behind their Christian facade. They want the self-righteousness granted to them by their religion without embracing the sacrifice and compassion that it truly demands.
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank Pope Leo for taking such a moral stance!

Schiff: I think it's valuable that the American people get a sense of what you have refused to answer today. So these are just some of the questions you refuse to answer, but or have answered with personal attacks on members of this committee. You were asked whether you consulted with career ethics lawyers, as you promised you would do during your nomination hearing. When you approved the president receiving a $400 million gift from the qataris, you refused to answer that question. You were asked who or what role you may have played, or who played the role in asking the trump's name be flagged in any of the Epstein documents gathered by the FBI? You refuse to answer that question. You were asked whether Homan kept the $50,000 bribe money. You refuse to answer that question. You were asked whether Homan paid taxes on the $50,000 bribe money. You refused to answer that question. You were asked, did career prosecutors find insufficient evidence to charge James Comey. You refused to answer that question. You were asked, how are military strikes on these boats in the caribbean legal. And you refuse to even answer that question. You are asked, excuse me, excuse me? You are asked, did you discuss indicting James Comey with the president. You refused to answer that question. You were asked, did you approve the firing of antitrust lawyers who disagreed with the Hewlett Packard merger. You refused to answer that question. You were asked whether you support a restoration fund for violent insurrections, insurrections to attack the capitol on January 6th. Refuse to answer that question. You were asked whether you were firing career professionals, career prosecutors just because they worked on January 6th. Question January 6th investigations. You refuse to answer that question. You were asked by my colleague whether you believe government officials, like immigration officials, have to abide by court orders. You wouldn't answer that question

The modern Republican Party has become a carnival of hate, fear, and hypocrisy dressed up as patriotism.
They call liberals “snowflakes,” yet collapse into full-blown tantrums over Disney characters, green M&Ms, or the mere mention of climate change.
They rage about “free speech” while trying to outlaw books, muzzle teachers, and defund libraries.
They howl about “wokeness” but worship a man who can’t stay awake through a trial.
They claim to stand for “family values,” while electing serial adulterers, porn-star payers, and men who brag about grabbing women.
They scream “law and order,” yet their heroes are mugshot models and convicted felons.
They shout “protect the children,” while their party defends child labor and their megachurch donors keep getting caught with hard drives full of evidence.
They call Democrats “anti-American,” even as they wave Confederate flags, flirt with Putin, and cheer for coups when elections don’t go their way.
They cry about “indoctrination,” but pump out conspiracy theories so wild even Fox has to settle in cash.
And the rot starts at the top.
Trump calls half the country “vermin” and “traitors” because he can’t stand being held accountable.
He threatens to weaponize justice, jail his rivals, and purge the government of anyone who won’t kiss his ring.
He praises dictators, bullies allies, and uses national security briefings as opportunities for flattery and self-promotion.
He didn’t drain the swamp, he built a luxury resort on top of it and sold memberships to the people he promised to fight.

BREAKING: RFK Jr. gets HUMILIATING news as six former U.S. Surgeons General join forces for a scathing and unprecedented warning that exposes his actions as "endangering the health of the nation."
And it gets so much worse for the disgraced MAGA Health Secretary...
"Never before have we issued a joint public warning like this. But the profound, immediate and unprecedented threat that Kennedy’s policies and positions pose to the nation’s health cannot be ignored," reads the opinion piece published in The Washington Post.
It was authored by the Trump-appointed Jerome Adams, Richard Carmona, Joycelyn Elders, Vivek Murthy, Antonia Novello, and David Satcher and in it they accuse Kennedy of having “rejected science, misled the public and compromised the health of Americans.”
The Surgeon General is the leading spokesperson for public health in the American federal government and serves as he operational head of the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
The six Surgeons General accused Kennedy of ignoring health experts, destroying crucial health panels, and fueling toxic anti-science misinformation that has "eroded public trust" in HHS agencies including the CDC, FDA, and NIH. In the case of the CDC vaccine advisory panel, Kennedy fired the 17 members and stuffed their seats with people "who often lacked basic qualifications."
“Instead of combating the rapid spread of health misinformation with facts and clarity, Kennedy is amplifying it,” the former Surgeons General wrote.
They went on to slam RFK's efforts to push vaccine conspiracy theories about autism, his debunked claims about the HPV vaccine, and the fact that morale at the HHS has become "badly damaged" under his stewardship with scientists feeling "silenced and sidelined."
"Repairing this damage requires a leader who respects scientific integrity and transparency, listens to experts and can restore trust to the federal health apparatus. Instead, Kennedy has become a driving force behind this crisis," they wrote.
The Surgeons General also pointed to Kennedy's utterly failed leadership amidst the "worst measles outbreak in more than 30 years" which resulted in "three preventable deaths and the first measles-related child death in the U.S. in over two decades."
"America’s public health systems are essential to the well-being of the nation," they continued. "We are clear-eyed about the fact that these systems need to be improved, including paying more attention to areas such as disease prevention, mental health and chronic illness. But reform must be grounded in truth, transparency and scientific evidence. Without this foundation, we risk not only halting progress but reversing it — costing lives in the process."
"Secretary Kennedy is entitled to his views. But he is not entitled to put people’s health at risk. He has rejected science, misled the public and compromised the health of Americans. The nation deserves a health and human services secretary who is committed to scientific integrity and can restore morale and trust in our public health agencies. Having served at senior levels in government, we know that politics are complicated. But this is bigger than politics. It’s about putting the health of Americans first," the Surgeons General concluded.
This is what courage looks like. These Surgeons General aren't concerned about playing politics, nor are they fretting about retaliation from this infamously vindictive White House. Their sole concern is the health and safety of the American people. We owe them our sincere thanks for speaking out.
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank them for speaking out!
