@Osint613 Trump said that they really really wanted to make a deal. If this is the deal that they were pushing, I can understand why they really wanted to seal it. What’s surprising is that Trump got played for so long if this has been their position all along.

Innocent people are arrested every day in the United States, and many of them are also jailed. The new trend, particularly in small town police departments, of charging for DUIs even when people haven’t been drinking, the escalate to arrest stops simply to get the car towed, and the city uses the towing fees as part of their revenue and rogue cops who just want to mess up your day. These type of arrests are intentional and they know the person has not committed a crime. At least ice let the person go as soon as they realized their mistake. A lot of small towns are intransigent and force you to go all the way through trial to get out of these situations.

Kagan is exceptionally dumb. We have lost nothing so far. Trump can win this war, if he chooses to. If he doesn't, then that will be a huge stain on his legacy. All he has to do is be willing to make the hard call.

Robert Kagan says that the U.S. has been checkmated into defeat in Iran which has seemed obvious since at least early March. But he sees the consequences as going far beyond the region; triggering a global arms race for naval power as countries seek to devise their own ways to protect their shipping routes since the U.S. maritime security umbrella is no longer effective. The revelations of U.S. industrial capacity shortcomings vis a vis munitions may also now tempt other countries to try their luck against a fraying unipolar order:

@MidwesternDoc This is all based on Old studies from the 2000s that have not been able to be replicated or proven in large double-blind studies. It is not a universal cure-all and over the counter. DMSO is not pharmaceutical grade and you don't have a way of properly administering it.

A very misleading statement. No, they were not building a nuke AT THE TIME, but they were still trying to dig out access to the bombed site that holds the enriched uranium. Once secured, they can build a weapon in short order. Ex-counterterrorism chief knows how to slant a statement very well. This is a good example of how they gaslight the public.

Why should we assume that the highly politicized U.S. intelligence community has correctly assessed that Iran does not currently possess a crude atomic device? Iran has benefited from decades of help from Pakistan and China, for instance. I believe the safer assumption is that the Iranians can put such a device together.

In his favor is the fact that he’s only 26 years old and that’s sort of the age of know at all syndrome. There is a regrettable portion of the conservative movement that jumps on everything and makes it a political issue. This is mostly by people who don’t have in-depth knowledge about a particular issue. Or like the one commenter below who apparently thinks spouting profanities help his argument.
