10 years ago today @honnibal pushed the first commit to @spacy_io 🎉 Since then, the library has evolved as the field moved forward, but also stayed true to its core mission: industrial-strength NLP and bringing structure to unstructured text. It's not always been easy building an open-source company while staying as independent and self-sufficient as possible and without compromising on our vision. There was a lot of trial and error and exploring new paths. I'm incredibly grateful for the supportive open-source community, the amazing team that helped us work on the library over the years and developers across so many different industries putting their trust in our stack and building on top of it. Thank you all 💙

Quick Count vs Real Count Kenapa saya percaya Quick Count? Lihat ilustrasi ini. Kita ingin menghitung Populasi yang di dalamnya ada kelompok A, B, dan C. Jumlah dan persentasenya seperti dalam kotak nomor #1, A=25%, B=50%, C=25%. Saat melakukan Real Count seperti dalam kontak #2, butuh waktu lama karena jumlah populasinya banyak, sehingga baru sebagian yang terhitung. Saat menghitung, tidak dipilih-pilih secara proporsional dari A,B, atau C. First come first. Hasilnya, yang A terhitung semua, B baru sebagian, C paliing sedikit. Akibatnya persentase A=43%, B=43%, C=14%. Si A seneng banget karena banyak presentasenya. Tapi kan ini tidak sesuai Populasi sebenarnya di kotak #1? Kemudian ada Quick Count seperti dalam kotak #3. Yang dihitung lebih sedikit dari yang sudah dihitung di Real Count. Tapi yang dihitung sudah dipilih-pilih secara proporsional, dari A=1, B=2, dan C=1. Kalau diprosentase, hasilnya A=25%, B=50%, C=25%. Lho kok sama seperti prosentasi populasi? Nah pertanyaan di kotak #4, mana yang lebih mendekati "Populasi sebenarnya"? Real Count yang belum selesai, atau Quick Count yang sudah kelar? I love Statistics. 🩷🩷🩷 🔥🔥🔥

simple example: 1% discrepancy in your billions in bank account? alarm bells! but 5-10% in website visitors? no worries, snooze time!

@ismailfahmi Kalau pengambilan sampel 2k-3k TPS bisa mewakili 800k tps, baiknya disarankan saja, pemilu berikutnya cukup diadakan di 2k-3k TPS, hemat biaya puluhan triliun.
