@WhatTheADHD I actually disagree with that too. I think there's a correlation, and that's what NFC somewhat represents, but I doubt there are causative effects there. you can reasonably predict that it's highly plausible, but asserting there are direct effects is a bridge too far imo

@WhatTheADHD big assumption you made there about IQ being challenge-driven. this conflates "Need For Cognition" (NFC) with intelligence. there's a complicated relationship there I won't delve into, but NFC would represent that "challenge-driven" part you wrote. IQ is simply ability, not drive

Motivation: - Interest-driven (ADHD) + challenge-driven (IQ) - Anxiety adds avoidance when stakes feel high - Cycle: high standards → pressure → avoidance → last-minute push

i feel like the older you get the more you realize multiplayer shooters are like the worst genre of games

@gigabibich @browndwarf6 that's a crappy argument. we accept films are often more powerful the less they use dialogue and the more they allow you to soak up what's on screen. games benefit greatly from this too.

I hate the idea that open world needs to be filled to the brim with content to be any good, like any emptiness is already a flaw

@terminallyOL word limit not doing me wonders. it's definitely not pushing the envelope (bar graphically), it kind of just jams a bunch of things together and it just works? the diversity in what you experience makes it nice to get lost in, rather than feel repetitive (ala ubisoft games)

@terminallyOL it isn't "raising the bar" so much as it's gleefully unaware of its absurdity. compared to ubi games, which have 1 big systemic wrapper, this is more of a neurodivergent kid's toybox. many loosely connected but fun systems that don't narratively/logically cohere, but work anyway?

it was like, five or six years ago, i wanna say when AC valhalla came out, that a game map like this would have been called "ubislop trash" and "junk to fill up an open world" so i'm just kind of confused as to why this is raising the bar and good now

@ElevatedSpeaks but the prowler good paired with any wall or smoke, it's an awesome supplement for a dive. I think it's honestly more strong because of the homing threat it poses. can you break the prowler and dodge a phoenix flash? can you kill the neon and the prowler? the micro is very cool

In theory I know that Fade is a good Agent but every time I watch a Prowler give bad info I can't help but feel like this Agent is trash. The difference between an expert Fade and a guy just playing Fade has to be one of the biggest gaps in the game. Top 10 Fade players in 2026:

@LucasRojo neon/yoru could capitalise far too easily on the reactionary slow. at least now waylay is more incentivised to take safe pathing if she wants to slow and get out. or you give her more initiator utility to be set up with and she can somewhat do what she was doing before

Hay un problema que la mayoría de gente no entiende. Han QUITADO la mecánica, el vídeo está absurdamente hecho para que parezca que sigue existiendo. Tienes que estar QUIETO para poder sacar el stun, por lo que ya no puedes hacer el doble dash stun en el 99% de los casos. Sigue siendo absurdo este balance de agentes de esta forma, sigues matando el meta en vez de equilibrarlo. Me da absurda pereza que quites las cosas que hacen bonito al juego. Repito, que las quites, no que las nerfees. Le han quitado al juego habilidad mecánica una vez más y no os preocupéis que los que lloráis por la neon también lo van a hacer, van a matar las mecánicas que hacen a ese personaje divertido. Que ridiculez de season y de año llevamos.

@AnderzzTV what about making lateral movement while jumping during the sprint much harder / not possible? then at least she wouldn't be able to dip in and out of her wall while jumping, and it probably wouldn't feel as bad to play as straight up cancelling her sprint on jumping

If the rumour mill is to be believed, what are we expecting for the Neon nerf and when do we think it comes? The one I've floated, even long before her resurgence, was that jumping should cancel her out of sprint. It would not only help with mobility/movement creep issues, it's also just more intuitive/realistic

@GenePark @ReynoldHughes yeah when I was playing last night I was spamming r1 and I only did one attack? which I found odd. this seems to explain that

in case you don’t know! hold DOWN the attack buttons in crimson desert, do not spam them. use them as your anchor to flow into other moves like hand to hand, stabs and dodges.
