What Land Rights? Israel has bent over backwards since its inception to accommodate a people that NO OTHER ARAB nations wants and a population of people who are constantly trying to harm it. The lies told about Israel are amazing. Are they perfect...hell no, there isn't a human ever who was, let alone a country.

U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who represents most of Seattle, called Israel a "racist state" during a conference interrupted by pro-Palestine demonstrators on Saturday. st.news/3rqyO3L

Couple of nice shots from the Kodak Retina I've been working on. It's not perfect (frame counter still isn't working right). But otherwise the camera is a lot of fun to use, and takes pictures!

@aconbere The sharp inside radiuses and not smooth edges. It is probably all nickel plated after it is punched and shaped.

@getoutfast stamping seems reasonable right? Very few hardened pieces, mostly softer metals, strange shapes.

How did creators of small precise machines in the middle of the century manufacture their parts? Take a camera shutter by someone like Compur or even a later Seikosha (or any watch maker for that matter)

@aconbere They all look stamped to me. Probably very little hand-working.

Many of these parts have pretty strange geometries that wouldn’t lend themselves to a lathe or a mill. Were they stamped and then hand worked? Honest question!

@HARKEN someone screwed up on your site. I'm getting a 403 on all your images (other people are seeing this too.)

Anyone got self hosted photo gallery software they like? Looking for something that’s easy to run, capable of being used by a small community, probably backed by s3 storage.

@aconbere It's all long gone. My dad and I tried to keep some stuff, but my mom had a big garage sale and sold everything.

Looking to sell a beautiful but rarely used Commodore SX-64. Hit me up if you’re interested and in the Seattle area. Keyboard works, original cables, has had the PLA upgraded.

@getoutfast They're pretty rare! There were a bunch of much more common "luggable" computers made in this era, but this one was mostly a huge flop.

@jamandabop Wait until you hear about this thing called the House of Representatives, where, unlike the Senate (which has equal representation for all states), representation is based on population!

@elonmusk That's only because people heard that Twitter was down, and they were hoping to see the collapse in real time.

The skit you just saw is based on a real thing that just happened to me in Discord, except it wasn't about cars, the subject matter was different but the exchange was pretty similar.

Me: "Yes, it is physically possible to drive a car with only the frame, transmission, and engine." Rando: "Shut up! You're not a car expert!" Me: "You don't need to be an expert to know it's possible." Rando: "OH SO YOU ARE TELLING PEOPLE TO GET INTO DEADLY CARWRECKS THEN!"

@nebergetic @lukeburbank The market was not created by Mr. Pike. Pike Place, the street, existed long before the Pike Place Market existed. The Pike Place Market was created when the City Council ratified a proposal by council member Thomas Revelle, and is named after the street.

@lukeburbank well idk for me it’s a little something called respect which mr pike and his bountiful market have always represented. maybe respect, too, is part of “vanishing seattle” 😔😔
