The UK police are supposed to serve the public, it is a legal requirement. So why do so many individuals join the police to serve themselves?

@UKCorruptPolice @LancsPolice I have a client who reported a crime. Was told it was civil matter. Client goes to the civil court, police intervene and cause a miscarriage of justice then lie to cover it up. My client is then abused by the police and labelled as a troublemaker.

Since when did using the civil courts become a crime? A claim was issued a harassment, the court issued, the legal grounds are clearly made out… and now you get reported for “harassment” for bringing it? What exactly is going on @LancsPolice

@nthnorfolknews Is this a joke? I am not a council tax payer in North Norfolk but surely this is over the top. I assume they also have fat pensions and other benefits etc.

@ABridgen Anyone noticed that the justice system doesn't seem to be there to protect the public but is always there to protect the establishment and institutions?

Founding head of @DoughtyStreet Chambers Geoffrey Robertson KC has written a polemical attack on the government's proposals to restrict jury trials through the Courts and Tribunals Bill, which begins committee stage scrutiny this week. In ‘For Mercy’s Sake’, GRKC explains how the government has overlooked the constitutional importance of trial by jury – to stand up independently against the state and to extend mercy to defendants who deserve it. He suggests that the Bill will work to worsen delays in the court system and recommends alternative measures that can eliminate them. He argues: “Once Leveson is seen for what it requires of court time and resources, jury removal may well be a cure worse than the disease..." Read more: barcouncil.org.uk/resource/jury-…

While suing the #police can deliver justice and drive reform, the internal misconduct system remains biased and opaque, often protecting officers rather than holding them accountable. iaingould.co.uk/2026/04/13/pol…

@UKCorruptPolice @LancsPolice @gmpolice This is the police in 2026 sadly. Don’t we all yearn for the days when officers took an interest in actually doing something and wanted to help victims. Now it’s all about trying to find ways to do nothing.

Or what if a man comes to you house, says he witnessed a contract being paid and put on your life, but, @LancsPolice refuse to record a crime and tell you to go to another police force @gmpolice who send you back in a game of police ping pong?

@gray_charles1 @1517mmMark @NormanBrennan That’s very sad . My experience was that no one could do their jobs properly and they lied and bullied. PSD HR and everyone involved in my case from Sgt to the DCC. It is quite bizarre that they just blag and nothing is evidenced it’s all just made up lies to suit their narrative

Norman Brennan@NormanBrennan

Folks a week ago I posted that an Ex police officer had committed suicide; it wasn’t public so I could give No further details; it was a colleague of his who contacted me; an Ex outstanding GMP Insp jumped from a 100ft Bridge; his crime? He WhatsApp a mate about a female officer; Sackable? in My Opinion? NO! He resigned as he knew what was coming & now? He’s DEAD by SUICIDE! RIP Brother🤦‍♂️🙏

But the PSDs seem to be run by female clerical staff with little or no experience of real policing. They don’t seem to think that the truth or any kind of integrity is a fundamental requirement. I have a case on my books for legal action where the clerical staff have been completely dishonest and their own paper trail proves they are corrupted.

@gray_charles1 @1517mmMark @NormanBrennan In my service the only contact in their processes with PSD I had was when I took my greivance out and they didn’t take my case . Then I won it for victimisation . PSD should have taken it and investigated it . But I also have colleagues that have experienced a witch hunt .

@1517mmMark @NormanBrennan @ochwheeshtyou If you take the example of Lincolnshire police who as far as I know are still in special measures. They blame underfunding for their failure. Unfortunately they are forced to abuse crime victims because of lack of money.

@gray_charles1 @NormanBrennan @ochwheeshtyou I am afraid that they are a necessary evil and can remember being interviewed by Complaints and Dicepline before PSD and even though I felt aggrieved sometimes some cops are their own worst enemies

@1517mmMark @NormanBrennan @ochwheeshtyou I dealt with three professional standards departments from different areas of the country and they were just different shades of utter disgrace. They lie as a matter of course and are abusing victims of crime. Thank goodness for FOI.

@1517mmMark @gray_charles1 @NormanBrennan I think the difficulty now is that evidence is not the basis of investigations it’s bias and stereotyping . I also think there is complete incompetence & lack of experience in investigating. Not accross the board but they don’t seem able to carry out fair enquiry now 🤷‍♀️

@drsanjoykumar @nottspolice I would appreciate you telling us all who the good forces are. In my work they all seem to be institutionally bad. It’s not the police officers it’s the management and the civilians.

Absolute shambles by @nottspolice your major operation was an absolute embarrassment to other good forces in the country. A major incident total devoid of competent senior leadership. A force incident manager (FIM) relying on dispatchers to deploy powerful resources on the ground. Absolute farce. Your coverage @ashac_patel is nothing less than award winning.

@vernalscott Corruption in police professional standards and the total failure of a complaints system. Civil servants within the police have ruined the lives of good police officers. Professional standards departments have too many women making them institutionally sexist.

Policing loses two of their own to suicide every month. This conveyor belt of death has been operating for far too long and vulnerable personnel don't get the attention they deserve. When oh when will this tragedy end? Former inspector Jonathan Ezard fell to his death. R.I.P. 💙

The law does not protect anyone. Police officers can not do their jobs because of management failures and corrupt professional standards. The court system is just the new Wild West. You cannot find a solicitor with the will to fight for a client, they are just interested in money.

@natalyanderson @LubaMacpherson Judges in Family Court cases just guess if they are not sure. Usually making biased decisions. My client is the victim of a terrible miscarriage of justice in Derby Family court. A life ruined because the female judge sided with the wife with no rationality.

One of the comments on yesterday's Substack post, "The State Has Become Too Enmeshed In Family Breakdown", was from my friend @LubaMacpherson. Her daughter's case is not in family court in the strict sense, it is in the Court of Protection, which deals with cases involving mental capacity in adults. But the issues are often almost identical. Luba kindly gave me permission to follow up the article with a companion piece using her case to illustrate how the state can wield power without proper accountability; how draconian decisions can be made without the proper evidence base. Luba wrote to me: "I hope people read this and start asking the questions that should have been asked long ago." I hope so too, for all our sakes.
