Yesterday, municipal officers in Harare CBD gave me a ticket for dropping someone at the Charge Office. They accused me of being a mushika-shika operator. I was fined US$172 plus US$11 for storage. What hurts most is that I was dropping off my grandmother, who uses crutches. I stopped there because I wanted to get her as close as possible to the doctor’s offices. It took longer than expected since she needed help getting out of the car. When the municipal officers came, they didn’t even listen or try to understand the situation. They just wrote the ticket and claimed I was a mushika-shika without any proof. Now my car has been impounded and is being held at the City Council Central Stores on Coventry Road.
