@JohnHMcWhorter minor correction to Lexicon Valley today. Finland, in Finnish is "Suomi", not "Suomea". "Suomea" is the partitive case, so used in cases like "a part of Finland" etc. And the "suo" root in there does actually correspond to "fin", in the sense of Fin as a bog.
