The Canucks should just keep Elias Petterson. Even if he doesn’t ever get back to what he was, he’s still a serviceable 2-way NHL center with scoring upside at his worst, and 11.6 for that might be close to the going rate in a couple of years. To get a decent return you probably have to retain salary, so why not just overpay him while the team is going nowhere instead? It’s the smartest move.

If he is on the block at the deadline are you willing to trade for him. Young enough to be apart of the next core already locked in on a good contract. Big body center.
