What is cheating? Is using tools for learning cheating? A calculator? An abacus?
In the absence of human (knowledgable) oversight, AI isn't good at writing essays. Its rubbish.
As educators we need to lead the way in adapting and embracing AI systems as powerful tools for teaching & learning. Students use of AI to judiciously research, review, draft, gain feedback etc., involves a set of skills that should be taught.

Good fun, and teaches about variables. Enjoy!

AI is already shaping children’s lives, and the government's Curriculum Review confirms that it and digital literacy must be taught properly in Computing.
At iCompute, we already teach:
✅ digital literacy across KS1 and KS2
✅ Artificial Intelligence throughout the primary phase
✅ safe, sensible understanding of AI from an early age
Read my post about what the review says, and what iCompute is already delivering.

@therealmissjo My in-laws are in their 80’s. They now do not go to town because they can’t park their car without using an app. The world, for them, is not enhanced by technology. It has become smaller.
English

I have an elderly friend who is in her 80s.
She lives in Cornwall.
Mary is very switched on but she struggles with new technology a bit - especially parking apps.
All she wants to do is put her car in a space for a couple of hours and pay.
She does not want to sign up for a new app.
She does not want to verify her device.
She does not want to save her credit card information.
She does not want to figure out why the app thinks she is in Devon and cannot geolocate the car park she is standing in.
She wants to take a few coins and put them in a machine and do her shopping/meet her friends. Now, she finds excuses not to meet friends or shop because she is so worried about the parking situation.
It is a disgrace that parking has become so discriminatory and this is just the start. When Digital ID is introduced, her whole world will feel like this.

@KristinaCo9561 How do you get a copy? Nothing on ebay or Thiftbooks.

I sound mad, because I am.
For 6 years, my daughter needlessly suffered from treatment resistant “severe mental illness” that I now know was metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction that I could have fixed from day one on my own at home and in my kitchen. It was never Bipolar Disorder (and hallucinations during manic episodes), never OCD, never anxiety, not depression, not ADHD. It was her body screaming out for help.
This book was published in 1975. 50 years ago!!
In August of 2024, I found metabolic therapies. I changed our diet. I threw out ALL of my groceries and went to the farm. 7 days later, she was off her afternoon meds. 3 weeks after that, we found Brain Energy and added the ketogenic diet to our metabolic therapies. 3 days after that, she woke up an entirely new child. She was off all medication within the next 2 weeks and in remission ever since. From treatment resistant to living her best life in 6 weeks.
We are built from food. Not pharmaceuticals.
Get curious. Your child’s life might just depend on it.

@KristinaCo9561 This book is out of print and hard to come by a copy. Can anyone recommend a book that has the same information that is still in print?

👩🏫 AI is already part of children’s lives. It's vital to teach pupils about both its power & its limits.
At iCompute, we lead the way: the first scheme to teach about & with AI, plus our own AI-powered Computing Teaching Assistant!

In computing, we talked about how photos can be shared online, the importance of seeking permission before sharing and how to identify adults who can help. #hummingbirds #icompute

@R_StriggowX @Inevitablewest They didn’t refuse. They just removed advance data protection because the nature of end-to-end encryption means there can be no “back door”.
English

@Inevitablewest Incorrect.
The UK government tried to Force Apple to remove iPhone encryption so they could spy on everyone iPhone but Apple Refused!
Get it right folks!
English

@toptraveller @discowren12 @tlloydjones But almost everybody does and they have the right to privacy and security.
English

@iComputeUK @discowren12 @tlloydjones As a journalist and photographer my life is spent online but I would never store data or images using an online service. If you lose your primary device, be it iPhone or laptop, you would struggle to access anything protected by ADP since the encryption key is in the device.
English

The UK is now the only country where Apple cannot use end-to-end encryption. It took under a year for Labour to create their Stasi surveillance state 👉

🚨NEW: Apple says they’re ‘sorry’ to UK Apple users, and acknowledge privacy is a human right
English

@marcus4509 @vilkinsons @BenWallace70 @tomhfh For the benefit of others: passwords and keychain + payment details are end-to-end encrypted by default. No need to turn those off in iCloud.
That won’t change. Photos and messages aren’t though.
See this: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ic…

@toptraveller @discowren12 @tlloydjones Of course, but for the vast majority of people living in the modern digital world, it isn’t feasible to be offline.
English

@discowren12 @iComputeUK @tlloydjones If you don't use an internet-based system the Govt cannot find it.
