Creators using @Ghost memberships already earning $2.2M+ ARR, just from our beta / preview release. By the time we do full release in 4.0 (soon!) it's likely revenue made with Ghost will surpass our own. Creator economy just getting started. Owning your stack will be key.

The legacy sites I have from when I was younger are all self hosted (I think?) in some form of Wordpress site... and they still exist! I just get the feeling @Medium will go the same way as @posterous

Always own your content.
I'm a big fan of @Ghost hence @GetMidnightBlog but whatever method you choose always host your content using open software / methods that you control.
We've seen too many services disappear with users content over the years. Anyone remember @posterous?
