My SaaS revenue and sign ups are flat I'm plateau-d at $1,000,000 a year A great achievement but a challenging spot to be in According to @robwalling only 5% of bootstrapped startups escape these types of revenue plateau The more complicated issue is that I am struggling to stay motivated The business is funding my lifestyle and that lifestyle is really good I travel constantly, see friends, train 5x week, give back, connect with other makers, spend time in nature, and fly business class The things that motivated me no longer do, and the idea of pushing through feels almost ridiculous At times, when things are flowing I feel capable and ready to keep going But my desire to move through tougher challenges (hiring, addressing technical debt) is decreasing I'm unable to cultivate urgency in the way I was before Maybe the lifestyle business I've built is enough

I’ve also lived in LatAm Dominican Republic and Panama. Honestly? Mauritius is the only place that’s ever really felt like a real home. It’s kind of like the best bits of the U.K. from 40 years ago. Polite, friendly, low crime. And honestly it’s not expensive at all and there’s huge new shopping malls everywhere. No problem buying things! Much better than Cyprus and cheaper than Turkey. No tax on foreign income. I love it - and good air connections via Dubai and South Africa with multiple flights daily.

@robj3d3 @mansfieldrv6 Lived there for 7 years. Can vouch for Mauritius as somewhere to research 🏝️ It’s beautiful. Maybe too far if you want to be near family though

Anyone working on side projects this weekend? I’m busy planning updates to Subsail based on some customer feedback I gathered recently. You?

@stalmico Just useful getting feedback that doesn't match my own plans. For example, I got some very specific requests to tweak the Subsail checkout for purposes I hadn't thought of

@dr love that you're actually listening to customers instead of just shipping whatever you want. that's the move. i'm procrastinating on mine but let's pretend that counts as strategy

@dr I built an online editor for video guides, and now I’m trying to figure out where to use it :-)

@dr Reminds me of this one that I built this one as a school holiday gig in 1999. It was basically unchanged for 20 years! I was paid $1k which I spent on CDs at Waterfront Records in Sydney (R.I.P.). Table based layouts, too (!)

I've been thinking about Subsail's positioning. <h1>s are always hard. You only get a few words. Left is what the site's said for maybe 8 years. Right is my new idea. Which is better in your eyes?

Spotify needs to release a “kids” setting so I can play all the songs my kids listen to without it affecting my own Discovery algorithm. Insane that I can’t do this already. My Discover Weekly is just nursery songs and Moana. @Spotify please fix this.

@GustavS @danielcberk @Spotify While you’re here, is there a setting to turn off videos in accounts? I set up accounts for my three kids but their apps are just podcast video feeds and I only want them to listen

Hey @danielcberk We currently have two different tools to help you with this challenge (which I have myself as well btw 🙂): 1. You can create a separate playlist and choose to exclude it from your taste profile (see screenshot). 2. If you just want to be able to use the whole app without it affecting your taste profile for a while, you can start a private session (see screenshot). More coming, but that’s it right now.
