@afringedgentian @AmyNielsen06 As a tiny publisher (with less submissions than an agent!) we have three form rejections. 1) didn’t meet submission requirements, which happens a lot, 2) needs a lot of revision/edits/not ready for pub, 3) this didn’t ring with us but the writing is great, pls submit again!

Amy, what a wonderful question. What bothers me the most is form rejections, and what I mean by that is that there is no difference in a form rejection for a poorly written piece of work that is not salable and a well-written well conceptualized work that just isn’t a good fit for the agent. I was wondering if several different varieties of form rejection so that we know if our work needs dev and line editing or whether it just doesn’t fit the agent’s list.
