What's a good deer caliber for a woman? Wanna buy the wife a deer rifle but i don't think she'd enjoy shooting a .308 or 30-06 repeatedly. Also this is for mostly East Texas. So don't necessarily need to reach way out there but do want the capability to reach a little out there if she goes somewhere else.

I’m rather a big fan of the 6.5G as an all-around cartridge in the medium weight and range category. It is very versatile versatile, has excellent range, loads from 80gr to 140gr, and delivers the goods across a wide range of applications. I adopted it myself right at the rise of the 6mm ARC’s so it isn’t quite as fashionable as all the 6’ers, but I like the extra mass, and I’m not feeling I’m giving up anything. Oh, and I have a boatload of rounds in various weights and charges, since I invested in dies, powder and shot. :-) I scraped the ‘Net for every load I could find, and have a load database that covers everything I could want for weights and velocities of any given load application. What I don’t have, and I may trade my 6.5 Creedmoor to get, is a bolt rifle in 6.5 Grendel, so I’m exploring this, as well. I rather like the Ruger I have, and I’ve long respected the Howa 1500.

Take 5 minutes and see what extremist animal rights NGOs are promoting anti trapping campaigns in your state, and go further if you want to see where they get their money from. It’s all high net worth individuals from coastal cities, tech billionaires from SF, and opaque private foundations that you need to dig through tax records to find. Even if you’re not someone who cares about hunting and trapping, it’s worth nothing how high net worth city people use well monied NGOs to make policies on every facet of American life regardless of what locals want.

Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor is not in vain.” Whenever I study this verse I usually picture in my mind’s eye, a tenacious Jack Russell terrier tugging at a sock I am trying to retrieve from him. He growls, snarls, tugs and yanks with all of his strength to stand firm and retain possession of the saliva riddled sock! That’s exactly what we are suppose to do - “let nothing move you.”  Friends, allow no argument or activity to distract you from the work of the Lord. This type of veracious commitment is uncommon in our society. Why? Remember the “tactics of the Devil” (Mark 4:17,19) are like a raging river coursing along a tortuous path to distract you from the Word of God - from your Heavenly assignment. The topic of the day is perseverance. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines perseverance as “the steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness.”  One of Paul the Apostle's defining character traits was his perseverance. He zealously preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ despite the formidable (even violent) opposition he encountered. He let nothing deter him. Let Paul be your spiritual example.
