@DPJHodges Are you doing SA is so similar to the UK that all data is automatically transferable? Av. Age half of UK, vaccination rate <30% of population, totally different health care system. Omicron still had the potential to dessimate the NHS with staff shortages & attendances.

OK, can we just knock this one on the head. We were told the information we were getting from South Africa was being "over-interpreted". It wasn't being "over-interpreted". It was an accurate reflection of how the Omicron wave was significantly different to Delta.

@mallondavid1 It takes 3-4 years to train a nurse, similar for AHP, 5-7 years for doctors. You do the math.

@DebWaines @Lubilu44 @dalv_135 @leelizard4 @georgegalloway That's because PCR detects the presence of DNA/RNA but can't tell whether it's viable or not. However, in the presence of symptoms this is kind of irrelevant. You seem to be implying it's not a sensitive test which is incorrect.

If there really is but 65 hospitalisations from Omicron, and one death, then the current paroxysm from state and media constitutes a crime again the economy and thus against the people.

Please get vaccinated... it's your best chance of protecting yourself, others and Christmas. It's quick & safe & our vaccination teams are fantastic. Walk in, no appointments needed.
