Microsoft’s new Xbox chief Asha Sharma is reevaluating exclusive games.
In a memo to employees she and Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty wrote:
“Along the way, we will reevaluate our approach to exclusivity, windowing, and AI, and share more as we learn and decide.”
This comes after Microsoft started releasing some first-party games on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
The company is now rethinking its strategy while focusing on growing daily active players.

@itsjeff06 @silentwisperer_ Connected apps may be able to see watch time but MC doesn't require connecting your MS account to anything for the drops.
You watch 15 minutes of a stream on twitch or TikTok and would just get a code sent to you via the inbox of that app and then you put it into the MS website

real talk, why has minecraft NEVER done a youtube cape. we have 3 for twitch and 1 for tiktok but the platform that helped build minecraft for 16+ years doesn't get anythinggg

@asha_shar This is a massive L. Most people only sub to Ultimate for Day 1 Call of Duty access. Scrapping that just to save a few bucks is a terrible move—$30/month was already a steal for what you get. Losing that immediate value makes the whole service feel way less "Ultimate.”

Game Pass Ultimate has become too expensive for too many players. Starting today, we’re dropping the price from $29.99 to $22.99/month.
Future Call of Duty titles will no longer join Game Pass Ultimate on day one. They will join this tier the following holiday after launch (about a year later). Current Call of Duty titles will remain available to Ultimate subscribers.
We’ll keep learning and evolving Game Pass to better match what matters to players.

that’s an unrealistic expectation so i’ll get infront of it even without all the details. it’s a free game being made by another studios it’s unrealistic to not have monetization. that’s the only way the game can be made and sustained with longevity. however, we focus on what’s standard and what’s ethical. which means absolutely ZERO merch. that’s a guarantee lol

I just realized…most mobile games nowadays have ads that play before & after each game so that they can make money from a free game through advertising
I don’t remember if Nightmare Run had ads but will it? If so, would we have to pay a certain amount to go ad free? #BENDY

@bumble_bbgun ads will only be opt in if they are done. meaning the player has to specifically agree to watching an ad for a reward. we will not have ads just play with no choice.
