8 long, joyful, tumultuous, exciting years have passed since I decided I was sick of mowing my lawn manually and decided to dedicate nearly every waking hour to… mowing.

Say goodbye to McKinsey... Nano Banana just did in 30 seconds what consultants charge $600k for. Here’s how I did it + 5 wild use cases 🤯:

Finance/Startup friends - does anyone know any companies specializing in non-dilutive funding (debt) for hardware companies that have great margins, sales and growth? Could secure the debt vs receivables or components? Everything seems geared toward B2B SaaS which is lame.

@almostcmb The fact most folks around VC don't know Starbucks was a huge VC winner and are surprised by Blue Bottle/Philz/Luckin is amusing

I hear this concept discussed frequently. But it's more perception (and maybe some suave product marketing) than reality If you really study the history of the asset class, right alongside semiconductor investments are endless stories of pitches from coffee shops (Starbucks), book stores (Borders), and ex-hedge fund employees pitching "everything stores" out of Seattle with a focus on logistics automation and online distribution. You barely get 10 pages into eBoys about Benchmark's history before you hear about all of these Many of the best returning investments of all time are consumer businesses, which by definition need to be legible, understandable ideas right from the start in order to grow It is selective memory to perceive venture as an asset class as being uniquely focused on hard tech. While that is the OG origin story, and its important it continues to be a meaningful component, it is far from it's primary identity if you take an intellectually honest view of things
Will Manidis@WillManidis

venture capital went from weirdos at the fringes of society investing in semiconductors to harvard educated spreadsheet jockeys doing occult excel macros to value brick and mortar private equity rollups at software multiples because the deck said "ai" 25 times.

@bscholl @celinehalioua @snowmaker Love this and 100% agree. When you've got to demonstrate demand years ahead of delivering, you have to figure out how to showcase the excitement of your future paying customers to investors & employees alike in increasing ways over time.

From the Spotify leak - I've been exposed for having a 7 hour long playlist with only one song on it. It helps me do deep focused work, don't ask me why.
