@jameswatson5 @StevenD1977 Very weird. I do think a lot of it is to do with fans thinking they are better by not calling for managers head but if it’s impacting your club why would you be ok with it if you’re a proper fan?
English

@HendrickD82 If you ignore our fixture They’ve conceded 14 goals in their last 5 home CL games and people think we were right to go there and just roll over rather than have a go 🤣🤣🤣 if they’d had their shooting boots on it would have been 6-0
English

Spurs went there and scored 3.
Bayern have gone there and scored 4 tonight.
Monaco went there and outplayed them multiple times this season.
But no no, a cowardly back 5 with zero intent to attack was definitely a good approach.
🌑@lfcG122
Guys on the tl genuinely still think 5atb was a bad approach I cant fuxking believe it. Just straight up too stupid man 2-0 loss was the minimum penalty whether we like it or not
English

@PhilBlundell If Holland get to the final that’s 25% of the squad that he actually trusts and uses not coming back until August. You can’t plan for that. we need 4 or 5 new boys and who knows when they appear. Hes not going to have a perfect preseason which is what he needs apparently
English

@jameswatson5 @nik8000 No. Some players aren’t going to the World Cup, some will be home early, but most importantly, you can plan for it. Now.
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell Blue ticks 🥴🥴🥴🥴 Muting this conversation now as I just had a stroke reading that tweet.
English

@jameswatson5 @PhilBlundell Hahaha the irony that you don’t know what the word irony means. Understanding nuance and context is beyond your comprehension so you blurt out bullshit and take your ques from blue ticks 🤡
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell Ha ha the irony. it’s all you lot do. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
English

@PhilBlundell @jameswatson5 Exactly so now we can plan in conditioning in the ages required over the period available. Last season this was HEAVILY interrupted, then we had grief counsellors at the AXA.
I give up.
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell How are we gonna have a full preseason? Are you joking?
English

@jameswatson5 @PhilBlundell We a fully prepped preseason. What are you on about?
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell So we can expect more of the same next season as well then as we won’t have a pre-season.
English

@jameswatson5 @PhilBlundell No, because our preseason conditioning was interrupted. The whole base is off fitness wise and root cause lays in preseason.
Can’t condition up during the season as an entire squad. That work is set in the start of each season.
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell Yeah I get that and that would make sense but if we have more control and are doing less running why do we look goosed all the time? Because we are under prepared.
English

@jameswatson5 @PhilBlundell Teams that have the ball tend to run less, don’t need to chase the ball as much. Possession based football leads to lower running stats. Basic really. Amazing how it’s lost on some many.
English

@PhilBlundell Ok let’s take that as a truth. what do you put the lack of fitness and concession of late goals down to then? Do you believe it’s just luck like Slot says?
English

@jameswatson5 Football teams who train 5 days before a game aren’t going to run more.
English

@nik8000 @PhilBlundell I’d imagine the majority of those were in the second half of the season when performances dropped off.
English

@GooalMouth @SophieJovi You lost any credibility at “always speaks well”.
English

I've been a big fan of Slot since he entered the dugout at Liverpool. He is a thoroughly decent bloke who delivered a Premier League title in front of the fans for the first time in 35 years.
Always speaks well and always carries himself with class and dignity, despite the tragedy, the transition and the injuries he has had to manage this season.
This is why I have been so vocal against people on this platform this season. Some of the stuff I've seen said about him has been a disgrace, and I have lost a lot of respect for the talking heads I once held in high regard.
Criticism is always warranted, and he has deserved his fair share. Still, the personal attacks, the fake outrage about training and man management (completely made up nonsense that has never held up in the real world), and even going as far as to suggest finishing in the top 5 is a fluke ( I could not believe that came out of the mouth of a certain Anfield Index legend). The constant belittling of his achievements has made me switch off to a fair few in the Liverpool Twitter community.
I really hope he goes on to deliver a top 4 finish and has us firing on all cylinders next season. There's no one I would rather see lead us than a Premier League-winning manager! x.com/beINSPORTS_EN/…
English

He demands a man over in defence, which leads to a man over for the opposition in midfield allowing them to play through us in transitions
We take shots around 60% of the XG value that we did in 2024 because we aren’t getting our best attackers int the box early enough to receive without 8 men around them (if at all) he insists on a 6 who thinks he’s a 10 which the requires our actual 10 to do the dirty work of said 6 meaning he’s fucking knackered when he eventually gets the ball as said 6 doesn’t actually pass forward
He chooses a left winger 92% of times he’s available, who has one move and seems to be instructed never to pass to his LB which is odd because the previously spoken about 10 passes to the LB about twice as often when he is tasked as the LW
He marginalised the fella who won him a league title, dropped him deeper and wider in the structure meaning he has touches later in the pattern and further from goal affording him literally one chance inside the 6 years box all season
He has a philosophy of training built around perceived “freshness” at the expense of physiological capacity so our lads cover around 1 mobile midfielder per game of running less than the better sides in the league manifesting as a bunch of lads who can’t press
The other significant consequence is that 31x one of our lads has had to be subbed off with injury, 3 of which were due to impact
English

It’s mad how many fans want Slot sacked, calling the tactics “shit” but not being able to explain what they actually mean or why. It’s just the same recycled buzzwords they see on here, without any real understanding of what’s actually going on.
If it’s that simple, then explain it properly.
Why does our build-up look slow? Why aren’t we progressing the ball quickly? Why does our out-of-possession shape struggle at times? Why do our midfielders look exposed in transitions?
Because just saying “the tactics are shit” is surface level. And when certain ideas aren’t being executed, it’s usually down to the personnel not fully suiting it, or not being able to carry it out consistently, not just the tactics themselves.
English

@footballoracle5 @jameswatson5 @Parki729 The referee did stop attacks for the other team because players hurt themselves a little bit though
English

Comes to something when your moral compass isn’t up to that of an actual fascist.

English

@footballoracle5 @Parki729 @PhilBlundell I didn’t say you should. I’m saying that he didn’t fake injury.
English

@jameswatson5 @Parki729 @PhilBlundell I’m sorry, but you can’t stop a game because the keeper hurt himself a little bit, in the middle of an attack from the opposing team.
