I had such a great experience working at the Met Office and saw all the hard work and effort that goes into the warnings! They will be working round the clock, looking at all the data at their disposal, to hone down on the most likely corridor of the most damaging winds!

The latest Met Office warnings. As you can see, Amber high wind warning covers central/southern Scotland, N Ireland, N Wales & N England. On the matrix it is placed in the highest impact column. Given continued forecast wind intensity, I would anticipate a red alert being issued!

@jrcmedia A very good piece John - well worth reading. I remember The Play on One and was always struck by just how much it seemed to be swimming against the tide in tv drama. I wonder if viewers appreciated the distinction between TPO1 and Screen One or the occasional single dramas?
