"Construction that isn’t legal, or is in Area C, or is on private land, is not legitimate" Naftali Bennett, who is running for Prime Minister in Israel's upcoming elections, reiterated his opposition to the construction of illegal Israeli outposts in the West Bank. When asked if he would forcibly evacuate existing outposts, he replied: “Of course. What isn’t legal, certainly.” Bennett laid out a position in line with the Oslo agreement, which put "Area C" of the West Bank in Israeli control: “In my vision, ultimately Area C will be part of the State of Israel, Areas A and B will be part of a Palestinian autonomy."

Israel just figured out how to help people with severe addictions in a non-invasive treatment that lasts only 20 minutes. They're using MRI-guided sound waves to treat a patient taking 130 painkillers a day. The same technology may one day help treat PTSD and Alzheimer’s. Seriously, how do Israelis keep producing breakthroughs like this while constantly under attack by Islamists? It's honestly remarkable.

This fantastic coverage shows very clearly what the "Board of Peace" is designed to do. By analyzing actual documents from the organization Drop Site shows how the Board makes no demands of Israel and only demands humiliation for the Palestinians in an attempt to crush their national movement: 1) Mladenov has not been mediating between the sides. He rewrote the Palestinian draft to match the Israeli position. He deleted every reference to statehood and self-determination under international law and replaced it with "creating conditions for a credible pathway." Nothing binding on Israel. 2) He deleted the Palestinian Authority entirely from the plan by Israeli request. The one body with international legitimacy that has worked with Israel does not appear in his text. That ensures no Palestinian governing continuity survives. 3) He expanded disarmament from registering heavy weapons into total decommissioning. Final language says the factions will no longer "hold, store, control or have access to any weapons." Netanyahu already admitted there are no heavy weapons left in Gaza. Meanwhile, the IDF remains armed and in Gaza. 4) He limited Israeli withdrawal to "Gaza's perimeter" and made even that contingent on "verified progress" on disarmament. Palestinian obligations are immediate and irreversible. Israeli obligations are vague and reversible. Israel gets to remain in Gaza and expand. 5) While this paper moved through the drafts, Israel built 38 fortified bases east of the yellow line and 25 km of earth berms dividing Gaza. Netanyahu pledged to occupy 70 percent of the Strip. These are not the actions of a party preparing to leave. 6) Mladenov and Lightstone told Palestinian officials that if Hamas refuses to disarm, the ceasefire is "null and void." Translation. Sign the surrender or we restart the war. 7) This is the function of a managed ceasefire. It does not end the violence. It ends the scrutiny. It converts an emergency the world was forced to watch into a bureaucratic process the world ignores completely. The talks are not stalled. They are working as designed. They give Israel a standing excuse to keep killing while it builds a permanent occupation, pursues genocide and full ethnic cleansing.

In every instance where the positions of the Trump administration and Israel appear to diverge, Mark Levin immediately and vehemently sides with Israel over the US (see below). That's because -- obviously -- his primary loyalty is to Israel, not the US. But if I were a faculty member or student at a US university and I said that, I'd be subject to firing or expulsion for violating the new IHRA "hate speech" code for anti-Semitism that Trump imposed on American academia -- regardless of the truth of my claim.

ATROCIOUS & UNCONSCIONABLE Under an atrocious part of this unfolding deal, Israel’s PM and Lebanon’s President will be forced to make a decision by our government that is truly outrageous if not unconscionable: either defend your country and protect your citizens from Iran backed Hezbollah terrorists or fall in line behind an agreement that ensures Hezbollah’s survival and protection. And if they don’t fall in line they will face incredible pressure and public ridicule. We already saw some of this. Of COURSE Israel and Lebanon will choose the safety and lives of their citizens over some deal that is unenforceable as against Iran and Hezbollah, certainly in the near future. Their interests don’t align with Iran’s nor apparently our interests. Why the hell would we do this? I remind you Hezbollah has maimed and murdered thousands of Americans. WE have done nothing in 45 years to confront it. Only Israel has. Isolationism and appeasement suck. Why are so few speaking out against this absurdity?  Even Obama didn’t do this. Both Israel and Lebanon were intentionally sidelined in these American-led discussions.  Terror-supporting Qatar and Pakistan enlisted as mediators!  Mediators for Iran! Again, no BS about disinformation or fake news.  This is as real as it gets.  Defend it.

I was once at a bar in Berkeley and Palestine came up because of course it did. Stated my views and the girl who brought it up kept getting flustered. Telling me she is Jewish and if *she* thinks Israel shouldn't exist, why should I? She was genuinely flabbergasted when I told her that to me, this was simply geopolitics. There is no benefit to Hamas leadership for the West and that I have no sympathy for guerilla terrorism, all of which had nothing to do with her ancestry. She kept repeating that she's Jewish and I almost felt bad for her. Like I could tell this was her big reveal, her trump card in these conversations, unused to not seeing someone back down because she was on the verge of tears. Was a very bizarre experience.
