Did it when I was young. I'm discouraging my daughters. Kids, yes. Give up your ability to earn a living because some abusive man wants her to stay home? Nope - find a work from home position. Women - at least in my family, going back four generations - have never been full time homemakers, at least not for long. Kids grow up. Men beat their wives. Always have a plan for the worst.

This lacks perspective. 'Habits' don't account for someone choosing between insulin and rent, or someone battling addiction/mental health issues. Grouping everyone into one bucket might get you likes, but it’s pretty damaging to those actually struggling through no fault of their own.

Also these men did not learn how to treat women respectfully and women don't need rude, unfaithful and unappreciative men anymore, it isn't the 1950s anymore. Men who know how to treat women are not alone. Smart women find those men to build a life with. Sorry to say it, but my hunch is than many of the men who are alone after a certain age likely came from very dysfunctional families and did not have a good male role model in their lives.
